This one hits on all cylinders. Classic Disney artwork inspired by the early animated features by Kelly; great characters and a big old book of fun features!! Yellow Kid
A great classic! You've got a beautiful. historic page nicely framed. I've got room for it on my walls if you don't have any place to put it. Congratulations!

They have been listing quite a few Disney books in their recent auctions.

Popular Post 50YrsCollctngCmcs
Last week's Heritage auction had some nice old Comics and Stories; while I wasn't able to bring home any of the nice Barks on offer when I saw this book going for a miserly $36. (without sales fee) I had to hit bid and managed to bring it home. It features some cool interior work including the first new comic work created for WDC'S by the incomparable Walt Kelly; a piece called the Flying Gauchito. A quick glance this morning also revealed a fantastic interior cover ad for Bambi and the serialization of the Mickey strip, "An Education for Thursday." GCD notes the Mickey strip was also published as the Mickey One Shot, "A Surprise Visitor" in 1950 but has not been reprinted in America since for obvious reasons. I hope to get a chance to read through the book this weekend! Yellow Kid
What a great deal! Any issues in the first 30 pre-Barks era are special, and to get an issue with work by two of the giants in the field is even better. The early books with only six panels per page really showcase the art. Very cool!

Duffman_Comics
That's a cracker inside front cover ad. Can anyone enlighten me as to why there are so many copyright years? GCD doesn't indicate any of the contents were published before 1943 - but there are gaps in the "record".
