What moderns are truly keys and will stay that way?

With all the flash in the pan books, and variant copies, which modern books do people feels are truly keys and will retain their importance and value going forward?

assuming you allow for fluctuations in value over time as characters wane in popularity...

 

I think the only TRUE key books are:

NM 98

BA 12

MAYBE ASM 361

 

and that's about it.

I have pondered about TWD once it is no longer on the air in any way. As many 9.8's as are on the census I wondered how it would effect the value, say five years after the show is over.

 

Thoughts?

 

I agree with NM 98 and BA 12 being a true modern day key as well. I can also see Saga #1 holding a strong value ($150-$200) even after the series ends due to its fan base.

The Walking Dead #1 is the best of the bunch imo. It was a mover well before the TV show and I think it'll be around when the show is over..if it ever ends.

Very true. I was too focused on price adjustments from the show but it's a key among keys without a doubt.

Another one that's not really talked about a ton is Runaways #1 (Vol #1). Great series and I can only see it increasing its fan base from volume to volume.
