I'm not sure if NHS #37 will ever be recognized as Shanna Master's 1st appearance or if Warrior Nun Areala #1 will ever be recognized as her 1st appearance.  It's too bad no one ever cracked one of these books opened to even read it.  If they had they would have known of the error.

I think NHS 38 was always consisted as her first appearance was because one site reported misinformation and other sites just copied the error without verifying the information.   I doubt they'll ever correct the error.

NHS really showed Ben Dunn's creativity on a long running independent series. Warrior Nun was controversial at the time for it's themes of nun's with swords and bullets vs Stilletto vs a Hitler archetype:

NOPE, not based on this pic.

"NINJA HIGH SCHOOL no. 37 is the first appearance of Magic Priest and Shannon (who is to become Warrior Nun Areala)"

That tells me NHS #37 is the 1st appearance of Shannon but not the 1st appearance of Warrior Nun Areala...does Shannon become WNA is NHS #38? or WNA #1?

This is an interesting topic. Can an established 1st appearance book of value change over time?

For years NHS #38 has been known to be her first appearance. It has now changed to #37. 

Although there are not many sales to prove which book is more desired it will certainly be something to watch out for

It's been thought that NHS #38 was Warrior Nun's 1st appearance, but Warrior Nun Areala #1 is her 1st appearance.  Shanna Masters first appears in Ninja High School #37 and does not appear in NHS #38 at all.

No Shannon panels at all.  The only reason I think Ninja High School #38 is considered Warrior Nun Areala's 1st appearance is the transformation of Mimi Masters into a demon witch or whatever that is.  It's probably assumed that witch is Warrior Nun Areala.

Yeh, I just don't see it. Seems like a reading comprehension fail to me that led to NHS #38 being consider the 1st appearance. I don't see Warrior Nun Areala in either of those books. If I'm reading it correctly, Mimi is the daughter...and she appears to gain powers in #38, but not Shannon.

You're welcome.  Yes, Mimi is the daughter of Shanna and David Crow (as mentioned in NHS #37).  Mimi is a witch so she had some powers, but I think in #38 she unleashed her true potential but in #39 she reverted back to normal.  I guess its kind of like a Phoenix/Dark Phoenix thing, so #38 may be considered the 1st appearance of Dark Mimi.
