When I was a kid in the 70's you could count on a few stores in my town throwing out a box of coverless comics every month. There were usually multiple copies of each book.  This included girlie mags. So we'd go dumpster diving and have a whole box of comics to read. I wouldn't save them though, they had no value to me and they never stayed in the collection. They had their full cover removed not half like you see in the 60's
