HEY ALL.

Story:   i have a slab i want to sell on ebay and accpet payments on paypal. aside from the priortiy express shipping im going to include in the ebay post id like to add additional insurance to cover the full amount of the slab's potential value which is close to 500$

QUESTION: what is the best way to include the additional cost of insurance to the customer in either the ebay post or in paypal without paying out of pocket for it?

You can set the shipping price to be whatever you want so just include the insurance cost into the shipping price.

Do I really want to do that if I'm willing to accept offers?

When reviewing offers, take into account your expenses before accepting. I'm just not getting why it's a problem?

Expenses don't change. You seem to just be trying to look at it in a way that makes you feel like you aren't the one covering them. But you are, and it's fine, sell the book for a price that you are comfortable selling it at.

Its really simple. If book is going to be on sale for $400 and shipping costs $15, then put the price at $415 with free shipping. I don't see anyone being testy just you are kind of confusing the matter where you wouldn't think confusion would occur.

If you increase the shipping cost, it will just seem like you’re gouging on shipping costs.  Why not just build it into the price? ???

I'd suggest to them a business 101 class, too but they'd just chalk that up to "bad advice" and go on doing their thing. It's funny seeing the reason we have an ebay gonna ebay thread post in the ebay gonna ebay thread.
