Deadpool 2 Resumes Filming Following Death On Set

Fox Studios has resumed filming on Deadpool 2 following Monday's motorcycle accident that killed stunt driver Joi “SJ” Harris.

 

Deadline reports new details in that production didn't have time to create a special helmet to wear underneath her Domino wig so Harris did the stunt without one. It's unclear if the helmet would have saved her life.

 

Both Fox Studios and Ryan Reynolds have offered their condolences.  

 

"We are deeply saddened by the accident that occurred on the set of Deadpool 2 this morning," a statement from Fox Studios says. "Our hearts and prayers are with the family, friends and colleagues of our crew member during this difficult time."

Ryan Reynolds Wants DEADPOOL To Crossover With THE AVENGERS...But He Wants The Film To Be R-Rated

There's also the issue of the jarringly different tones in both film franchises, which would require Deadpool to be toned down or The Avengers to be ratcheted up. However, this isn't a concept completely unfamiliar to comic book readers as Deadpool's interactions with other superheroes in the pages of Marvel Comics often results in plenty of thresholds being crossed and buttons being pushed.

Juggernaut rumors?

'Deadpool 2' Set Photos Could Hint At The Juggernaut

Juggernaut’s appearance in Deadpool 2 is far from confirmed for now, but new photos from the set of the sequel show a large, unidentified actor wearing a motion capture suit who was said to be using a rig similar to the one used to create Colossus in the first Deadpool.

Check out the photo - and the Tweet that misidentifies the actor as Jack Kesy, more on that in a moment.

 

The photos were first noticed by Omega Underground, who confirmed in a Twitter exchange with the photographer that a large rig similar to the one used for Colossus was used during filming and that the scene involved some other “guys in yellow.”

 

This isn’t the only hint we’ve had that Juggernaut could be coming to Deadpool 2. As OU mentions, some audition tapes previously surfaced - and have since been taken down by 20th Century Fox - that were for a role that sounds like it could very well be the Juggernaut.

New DEADPOOL 2 Photo Seemingly Offers Up A Look At A Younger Cable

RAY DONOVAN And ATOMIC BLONDE Actor Eddie Marsan Reveals That He Has A Role In DEADPOOL 2

Eddie Marsan (Sherlock Holmes, V for Vendetta, Ray Donovan) posted the below pic to his Twitter account, revealing that he has indeed joined the production - though we have no idea who he's playing. It's possible that it'll only be a minor supporting role, but even if that's the case, Marsan is an excellent addition to any cast.

We'll update if and when we find out any more details. Deadpool 2 is set to hit theaters next year.

Josh Brolin Posts New Photo As Cable With Slash

Worlds have collided on the set of Deadpool 2 as Cable and Slash have been photographed together.

 

Brolin took to Instagram to share a photo he appears to be particularly excited about as he is seen rocking Cable's scars on his face standing alongside the iconic guitar master.

 

"Other than how stoked I am that I was born with the absolute largest skull in the Western Hemisphere," Brolin wrote, "next comes the excitement that comes with the uber-talented, scruff mister Slash (and his lovely Meegan) visiting El Sarcastic and I on the set of Deadreservoir."

DEADPOOL 2 BTS Photo Shows A Bloodied And Battered Wade Wilson As Ryan Reynolds Raises Hurricane Support

As Florida braces itself for Hurricane Irma, celebrities are taking to social media to advocate for Americares. The charity has already sent numerous emergency supplies to those affected by Hurricane Harvey in Texas and with the home of Walt Disney World braced for possible devastation, the company is looking to do the same for those who are sure to feel the impact the extreme weather will have.

Ryan Reynolds is the latest to take to Twitter to promote awareness and if you take a closer look at the costume he's wearing on the set of Deadpool 2, Wade Wilson has been shot through the hand and has patched himself up with duct tape all over his arms. Is this a sign that his healing factor could be negated here or have we just caught the Merc with the Mouth at a particularly bad moment? We'll see.

On Monday morning, Brolin shared a new photo fo himself as Cable to Instagram. The photo shows Cable screaming into a cracked mirror.
