This book fell off the list because it's been cold for a couple of months, and that Voldy sale of a 9.8 for $1250 did it no favours.  The list is the most volatile after the top 5, so who knows, maybe it will pick back up again at some point and make it back on. :)

Once again the logic doesn't make sense across the board. It's your list, so do as you will, but food for thought since there were two sales for Ms. Marvel #2:

# of sales:

1. 1

2. 2

3. 4

4. 1

5. 0

6. 0

7. 2

8. Multiples, but (2) 9.8s didn't even crack $1,000

9. Multiples

10. Multiples

11. 1 (9.6 for $900)

12. Multiples

That sale for Ms. Marvel didn't appear until after I posted the list.  But even if it was there already it still wouldn't have made the list.

And the one thing you're forgetting when it comes to scant sales for many of the books on the list is the overall lack of availability.

Ms. Marvel always has plenty of copies available, people have just stopped buying, and that sale of a 9.8 for $1250 killed it for this particular update.

**Edit-  I just updated the narrative in the main post to also reflect the $800+ that a raw copy of Captan Marvel 12 sold for recently as well.**

If I'm not mistaken this ($2500) ties the most ever paid for a raw copy of a modern variant, regardless of condition:  :whatthe:

But you mean "asked for" and not "paid for", right?

Whoa. Glad I got a 9.8 a few years ago before all this.

There's been a recent spate of activity with multiple sales of the Dirty Dozen, in addition to the sake of the raw copy of the ASM 678 VenoMJ for $2500 that will likely lead to some re-shuffling upon the next update. (worship)

A raw Siege 3 for $1888:

A 9.8 Edge of Spider-verse 2 sold for $2k:

And of course a 9.6 ASM 667 Dell'otto went for $8k:

Hey guys,

So in case any of you have ever wondered what a knock down, drag out, white knuckled, no holds barred, anything goes version of the Dirty Dozen list would look like if all the original criteria used was thrown out and everything was considered and the list was expanded to 100, well here you go: :)

https://www.sellmycomicbooks.com/variant-comics.html

Everything is considered here, foreign books, reprints, books that just came out last week, everything.

Their "Minimum Raw Value"'s are laughable. The order of that list makes my head hurt.

May have missed it but didn't see the Spawn 232 Eastern Washington University cover on here. Apparently only 400 of these exist and even fewer not signed by McFarlane. It is the same cover as the 232  with  EWU GRAD Special across the top.

There's only one public sale of that book in a 9.8 for $1200. Not enough to make the Dirty Dozen at this time.

Speaking of which , another sharp looking copy of the ASM 678 VenoMJ just closed for ~$2500:

Thanks. For those who care, there really were only 400 copies of this printed putting it in the same class as the 222 Kudranski(in terms of number of copies available). What makes this harder to get raw is that McFarlane signed many of the EWU copies so finding a NM without his signature limits availability further. Again, no one may care or even know but it is something that should be recognized.

I am not a modern variant guy but this is a tremendous tremendous tremendous thread. Just outstanding.

Note that we all need to get Adventure Time variants on here. That would make me very happy, as I have all of them. There are a couple that have print runs of under 50.

Thank you for the kind words.

Is there a particular adventure time variant that we should take a look at ?

Oh, no one cares about them but me, but there are a couple that are insanely hard to find. The Eugene Comic Con variant of Adventure Time 46, just as an example, has never been for sale - not once! - on eBay. Again, no one cares, so they don't really have a value that is commensurate with their rarity.

I am 100% positive that a Boston Comic Con variant for Adventure Time 15 was made, as it was advertised in the 15s as well as in all of the promotion for the show. That was the show cancelled the night before because of the Boston marathon bombings. The cover art was used on a variant for issue 17, but the 15s had to have been created and shipped to the show. I'd pay a great deal for one of those. I am also 100% positive that the TCAF variant for Adventure Time 16 was NOT created - I spoke with both Boom and the TCAF people who said they didn't do it.
