Interesting. I may be in trouble, my OCD will not allow me to get any printing of #497 where the overlay does not match perfectly with the cover title logo.

I have quite a few multiple printings from this story arc. I always wondered if there were any that were truly scarce. Anyone have any advice as to which issues and printings are good to look out for?

#497 is one of the few Copper books that I want the newsstand edition of, so I can see the whole cover. The same goes for Justice League America #71. I also like that the date is included in the UPC area on #497.

I think Batman #489-90 2nd printings are hard to find, along with #492 3rd. I hardly ever see Batman #500 2nd printing in the wild, but I don’t know if it’s really that HTF. I’m not sure about the Detective Comics issues.

There isn't a 3rd printing for #493.

None of them are especially rare, but I'd say that the 500 2nd is definitely uncommon. I've got multiples of all of the 2nd and 3rd printings from that run, but I think I only have one or two copies of the 500 2nd.

I just scored Batman #489 Second Printing!

I was pleasantly surprised when I did a quick eBay search the other day, as it's been a while since I last looked for any of these. 

I also picked up Detective Comics #659 Third Printing last April for only $24.99.

Now I'm 3 down, with 14 more to go.

Progress Check

My first CGC book of 2020.

I lucked out with this Vengeance 2nd printing. This piece was first listed on eBay and sold for $168.31 on 1/5/20. I was interested but I let it go. A few weeks later I noticed the same book/cert # listed again from the same seller. I checked with them to see if it really was the same book from the previous auction or if it was a duplicate and they had just used the wrong scan. To my relief it was the same book, the seller said that the winning bidder didn’t realize the book was a 2nd printing and asked to cancel the auction. I got another chance and a better price but that sucks for the seller.

The same night I won this book a 9.8 of the 3rd printing also sold on eBay. The realized price was only a bit more that what I won for my 2nd printing, I thought the 3rd would go for much more.

4 down, 13 to go.

This is only the second 9.8 example in the census, the first example was graded back in 2014.
