THE BEST AMAZING SPIDER-MAN VARIANTS - THE CREAM OF THE CROP

The modernest of modern ASM covers. Just out this week....

I don't pay attention to ASM variants anymore, I tapped out with the Martin ASM 1 for Volume 3 :acclaim:

...but this one is nice (considering all the regular covers for this volume suck eggs!)

My favorite for oddest variant is the 2nd printing of ASM #638. Obviously NOT because it's the prettiest... it's just a big "O".. but because I love the story. Darn hard to find too. The few I've ever found I've always been able to flip ... so it's a great thing to have on your list when going through your LCS.

For those who don't know the story, the plan was to start a string of 2nd print books with #638 that would spell out "ONE MORE DAY"... but Marvel decided to scrap it. So I'm pretty sure that not only is the "O" book the only one out there, but it may have even gotten pulled early and be shorter print run. I don't know if anyone can confirm that but I've read this story / heard this story and I hope it's true because I think it's pretty great.

Anyway, it explains why this bizarre book is out there:

in this thread I would like to discuss and share my favourite Amazing Spider-man variants - this isn't about the value of a few of the books, we all know that there are a couple that go for crazy money from the constant threads focusing on a handful of books - this thread is a free-for-all where everyone can share their love of Spider-man variant covers or even regular modern ASM covers.

Great thread @bababooey! I didn't realise you were an ASM variant man.  Great taste Sir (thumbsu

Here's a well deserved bump, with a few I used to own.

I ended up with 3 copies of the 184 in the end, but none of them had the sticker. Here's why:

I always preferred the unbagged 390 to the bagged:

Better than the snow cover?

Some of the second printings had great covers too. A few faves here:

I bought both of these for under ten of our Englandville pounds each when they came out. Though I sold them for an eye watering profit, had I hung on a few more years I could have sold them and bought a new car. Ouch.

Actually, OUCH!

Cool covers to boot.
