Just finished a Costco run to restock the pantry and toiletries... just so happens I want to stop at Target for toothpaste... walmart is not too far away either...

Didn't see anything but I wound up buying a video game for the first time in awhile. 

However, as I finished up my pantry possible lockdown 2 shopping, I noticed things were unavailable so I ordered it on Amazon... I was greeted with this news.  The price for the Imperial Troop Transport continues to fall. Initially offered for $69.99, it eventually dropped to $62.99 and now Amazon currently has it as $52.99 shipped.  If it goes down another $5 I might buy one.  For those that like the $52.99 price tag...

WIth the way hasbro distributes, I doubt we will see any of the new GI Joe figures in  Target....

Found this at Target, Home Depot and ACE Hardware...

They come in plastic containers... so... 

Also ordered 6 containers of amazon's version of lysol wipes and 9 x 40oz bottles of lysol liquid to refill spray bottles.

I think I am ready to start taking the subway again.

it's a sad day when we are as excited about finding Lysol ,as we are finding the latest GI Joe or Transformers toys at Target/Walmart!

Hope you guys all have been staying well. I haven't participated much on the boards as I wasn't really in the frame of mind to be sharing when others around me have been going through difficulties during the pandemic. My pick-ups have been very few. Of the highlights, one was to further my Voltron research - more on that in a bit - the other was an opportunity that came up and timing was right. But first, I had a little over a dozen TMNT Raphael 1 (first Casey Jones) that were in excellent condition, and at one point earlier in the year I was thinking of blowing them out at $40 per (which was giving them away for a song given how nice these were). Then the pandemic hit, and the lone listing I had up started getting hits. I sold all but one issue for $100 each, and I can only attribute it to a two-pack that was released with Casey Jones and Raphael causing this frenzy, because I've never seen so much interest in this book. So with that money, I picked-up a few things which I'll show below, and it felt more like putting that money into something else instead of having to blow money that maybe could have been put to better use in these uncertain times.

When I began studying the blister design on the unproduced IRWIN Mini Lion for my research, the stepped design they used for the top corners was one characteristic I couldn't quite understand. The contour outline for the figure would have attained greater seal integrity if it touched down and bonded to the cardback rather than keeping that area elevated. The latter would have been a more intuitive design choice given the torso heavy robot contained within. However as I examined it more closely, it appeared to have been a deliberate choice in pursuit of a plan of possibly placing the GoLion on the cardback with its wings flared out. Without a single example surfacing to validate this thinking, it remained nothing more than an unconfirmed hunch. Then this example showed up on feeBay in June and I just had to have it. This is the first time I've noted that a Mini Lion was mocked-up to emulate the cardback art, and is just one further concept element proving IRWIN had been striving towards making this an offering unique to the Canadian market. One of the unfortunate predicaments of sharing about this unproduced toys history more openly in collecting communities is that I'm finding a lot more competition on these than in the past, so this set me back a little more than I would have liked for strictly research purposing, but I had to have it.

The second purchase came way of a listing that appeared in an FB group. After I did an appraisal of an LJN Thundercats collection a few years back, I fell in love with the toy line. I'd always had an appreciation for LJN, but the sculpts on some of the figures were something that I really stuck with me. I had hoped to eventually put together a small 80's displays for my boys which would allow them to have a keepsake memory of what things their Dad like, collected and such, and Thundercats were one line I'd wanted. I had a few prototypes slip through my fingers over the years, but when this complete Tuska Warrior hardcopy appeared I worked out a deal with the seller and it's on its way. These have shown up over the years in parts, but complete with hardcopy gun and extra head were just too good an opportunity to pass up. Set me back a bit, and I probably wouldn't have done it had I not closed out on a deal where I sold half a dozen Raph 1's the week earlier, but glad I did now as I am really digging the way this looks. This is a photo the seller snapped, and he included the production toy which I'll display next to it, along with the Cheetara head I picked-up late last year.

Some recent pickups and a couple of ones I got I dont think I showed. Gi joe cobra island was so hard to find but I got one trooper in a not so great neighborhood 30 miles away and I had to show at 6am and then beach head i said I'm not doing that again so I used ebay points to get him for 12.00 or I wasnt finding him at the store and I wasnt about to drive back and forth 50 times....unless Baroness shows up then I might lol. 

Ps i miss dino riders. They are so well made even the box is nice because it opens and let's you see the figure unlike old gi joe. I saw the sealed one at my local toy store and had to get one back. 

 

Ps ps deluxe snake eyes is one of the greatest 6 inch figures I've ever seen.
