Well I certainly wasn’t planning on more plastic crack/sdcc exclusives but when I saw the redeco of this Optimus I thought it was one of the best ones I’ve seen. I liked ghostbusters growing up but wasn’t into the toys. I am however into Transformers so this is great way to represent the other brand for me. It worked out that I recently got some credit at my lcs and they brought this guy back from the show. So I was blessed with an opportunity to buy it. After I got Optimus I was fortunate to find a GameStop nearby that had an Ectotron. These will go great together!

Correct me if I am wrong... was MP Optimus Ghostbusters version cheaper than the regular version?

Also, what did you think of Ecto 1  ?  He is available on Hasbro Pulse and I was thinking of pulling the trigger on that.

It looks like they are both the same retail price of $150. Ghostbusters version is a little more bang for your buck with more detailed paint and accessories. It's just missing spike and the battle axe

I haven't taken it out of the box yet but I think Ecto 1 is a great transformer. Almost at masterpiece level but a fraction of the cost.

Latest addition to my 80s MOc/MIB collection.

Been watching for one of these guys still in the box.  For some reason all the decent ones were in the UK or Australia. Loved the weapons and the ability to mix em up. I had the sea one, my brother had the land one...

CENTURIONS!

Max Ray....man I love that 80s porn 'stache.

Box is is good shape. Window is a little detached in one spot. And the original tape was taped over at some point (and then reopened) Inner figure and pieces are all still attached.

That takes me back, fondly remember the Christmas I received Max Ray as well as the "bad guy" Dr. Terror. Such a funky toy line, the scale didn't work with anything else, the customization was interesting, it's a shame it didn't last longer.

Wow, that's nuts! I must remind myself that I don't collect new Transformers, and I have to hold onto that vow, or else I'll have to mortgage the house!

Siege of Cybertron has really been sparking my interest.  I loved that first Optimus Prime that transformed into a tractor trailer that looks like it could be on the road in 15-25 years.  I also wound up picking up Prowl and Red Alert.  I will probably break down and pick up Omega Supreme. Red Alert transformed with an amazing design that made me feel like it was a mini-masterpiece with the way that the front wheels tucked in and that there were no gaps in the legs nor a large amount of 'backpack'.  I've been impressed.

They ARE cool, and I dig the battle damage decos that they're giving them. Soundwave looks particularly gnarly, and I also love the fact that Starscream's alt-mode is the weird triangular jet seen in the very first episodes of the show. It's super cool stuff. But I don't collect it. Gotta stick with vintage. if I don't draw a line in the sand, I'll go broke!

I wasn't really buying until last year with the Terrorcons and the Dinobots were finally released.  I loved me those!

It is true though... I have a current plan that if I buy something, then something else has to go.  In some cases that 'something' either has to equate to 'space', cost or quantity.  So, supposedly I have 2 copies of Crime Suspenstories 15, Target Micromaster 10 Pack, Ghostbusters Transformers Ectotron, and I want to play in the Comiclink auction this week.  This means that several GI Joes and other things are being offered up on eBay this week to compensate.  I want Omega Supreme but I want to sell something that is of equal size to justify the space...

Otherwise I feel as if I will have nothing to 'show' but endless bins and shelves of clutter.

Yes, this is exactly where I'm at. It's almost (almost!) as much the space issue as it is the money. As I get older, I see less value in having stuff stored in bins. If I can't SEE that stuff, I'm not sure why i have it. So I am increasingly stripping back, trying to only pick up things that I can display and enjoy regularly. Sorry to say that the Marvel Legends finally had to go. I love 'em, I think they're cool, but they're sitting in plastic bags in airtight bins on a shelf in my laundry room, stacking time and dust. There's just no point. I think lots of new toys are "super cool", but my heart is with the vintage stuff. So, away they go!

Yeah, the only thing I am okay with in deep storage in bins is the Lego because every now and then I think of a new project.  Aside from sets, I have also bought bricks in sheer bulk.  Goodwill has some amazing auctions online and it's not uncommon every once in a while for me to receive say 20-30lbs of bricks in the mail. You never know when you are going to get a new idea that requires certain parts or colors.  But... There will be a thinning of the herd today.

Lol I second that but Siege is probably one of the best lines to come out in a long time. I think this is the first time we see official tetra jets from Hasbro. So far I've resisted the urge but as @Buzzetta its hard not to get an Omega Supreme.

We actually stated a gigantic lego organizing project at home. My wife found a free display case so we finally got the kids projects out where they can be seen. I'll post a couple pics in a few...
