In the latest Mandalorian they showed a crew cabin area that I don't remember ever seeing before in Slave I.  I don't see room for that in this model...I guess it's a bit smaller than the real thing?

Yes.  Much like the BMF / Disney Falcon it is bigger than the previous counterparts yet smaller than what it should be according to scale.   Also added to the fact is that Slave 1 may have just become magically bigger on the inside to accommodate the scene.  That area of the ship has never been seen before.  Originally, it was a rotating platform for one and then for three.   Now there is apparently a much greater amount of space.

While I'm stuck on vintage, this version of Slave 1 is probably the biggest and best one to come out to date. I just went through and made sure mine is complete as this came in a large collection purchase from several years ago. Most of the parts were scattered in a large tupperware bin, glad I have all the parts. Pics are from a website that took better pics than I could, and I'm too lazy to pull it out for pics

That’s the first version of the one I posted above.  It was originally offered as a TRU exclusive with pack in figures if I remember correctly.  My boss had me pick one up for her son when they were originally released.

Soon after, Amazon got the exclusive deal to produce them without figures in the ESB colors.

Check the wing mechanism.  There many produced in the first two runs that had wing issues that would not function correctly when the ship was tilted.  There is an easy fix for it if there is an issue that involved repositioning a spring or something that was dislodged.  I remember following the instructional guide online.

The current version supposedly tweaks the wing issues and includes the prisoner chamber and the carbonite block as well as an acrylic stand so it can stand upright.

It’s a great ship in any color.

Mine comes Monday... :whee:

I need some advise on my next toy collecting venture. I have tapped out on comics for now because the only comics I “need” are currently out of my price range for the grade I desire (Avengers 4, Hulk 181, GSX1).

I was born in 1980 so I was a kid during all the best toys. I love GI Joes but have all the ones I want. I am interested in starting up a ThunderCats or He-man collection. I recently purchased a He-man and Battle cat and two Lion-o’s. All of which are mint out of package.

I like both equally but only want to focus on one. Which is a better pick and why?

@Summydad1 your story is very similar to mine. only a few books in my want list and they seldom appear. I started collecting GI JOE vehicles as an alternative. But to answer your question, both. Thundercats didnt have a very long run in toys so I think you will soon notice you have the essential keys and move onto the next franchise.

Thanks brother. I collected joes as a side project for years and now I have most all of what I want with those. Yeah, both is what will probably happen. My heart tells me start with ThunderCats.

Lots of 80s cartoons to choose from aside from the popular Transformers, GIJoe and TMNT. Like Thundercats, SIlverhawks, Mask, Bionic Six, Centurions, etc.

How about non-toys like old consoles and games?

games look real fun and interesting to collect. Just worried about the floodgates once I buy the first one.

I never was a gamer. I bought my daughter a Switch and I play Mariokart with her sometimes. A friend recommended a Zelda game for it but after wasting a whole day off playing I realized I don't have the mindset for games.

I did really like SilverHawks and MASK. MASK has a lot of figures and hasn’t gone crazy with pricing. TMNT never had a massive appeal for me like GI Joe. I did look at Voltron sets by matchbox and Bandai but those are sky high money

Though I loved both cartoons as I kid (Thundercats and He-man), I just never cared for the Thundercats toys much.  Sure, Lion-o is amazing.  But a lot of the villains and vehicles were super subpar.  He-man toys were some of my favorite as a kid.  In all honesty, the consistency from toy to toy is what I really enjoy about them.  But I'm sure that's why many don't like them.

A lot of memorable figures and they don't cost a ton loose/mint.  He-man, Skeletor, Castle Grayskull w/ Point Dread, Battle Cat, Panthor, Snake Mountain, Sorceress, Trap Jaw, Mer-Man, Man-E-Faces, Beast Man, Faker, and so many more.  There are a slew of tough rarer figures to track down too (like Sorceress, Randor, Snake Face, Mantisaur, Saurod, Horde Trooper, Blades, etc).  Even a lot of the common figures make me happy like Roboto, Fisto, Clawful, and Hordak.

It arrived... and they actually put an outer box over it.  I might keep the box after all... It's kind of cool... I have no time to open it and set it up tonight as I have a lot of work to prepare for tomorrow as there is a dumpster in my driveway and tomorrow's zoom meetings are going to be 'noisy' as construction commences.

BUT... three seats... oversized ship and a stand !

You're REALLY making me want this thing.  But I don't collect 1:18 scale!  Yet...1:12 scale vehicles are COMPLETELY impractical to display and store.  Don't know what to do!  :ohnoez:

I don't collect SW at all anymore, but that really is neat. I have this sitting in my BB cart. The power of Buzz compels you!

Same, it has been in my cart for a week.

For some reason Best Buy isn't shipping anything right now.  I have a few figures in there as well and none can be shipped.

Ordinarily with Best Buy, if shipping isn't available, then it's only available at your local stores, and is sold out at their warehouse. So whatever is floating around out there in the physical stores, that's all they have in stock. So, it's likely that they will sell out soon. Unless there's some other glitch going on right now that I'm not aware of.

Slave 1 is showing that way for me, my closest BB has it in stock. In a way, I almost hope it sells out shortly so I'm not longer tempted to buy it! ha
