Picked these up... pretty excited about the 2nd aliens appearance... anyone know how rare albedo 8 is?20191102_174154.thumb.jpg.43fe0a7850ba1b08c8dc2f8010701496.jpg

There are 4 on eBay. One is $15 with free shipping. So, not a common book, but not a lot of demand this minute. Tons of 1st series 8s, not so much this series.

Thank you..I guess the premium is because it's scarce?  Anyway never seen albedo in the wild before... maybe I'll find an Albedo 2 someday!

I bought about 25 copies of albedo 3 (2d usaji) out of my lcs 3 for $2 box over the course of a month a long time ago. Not particularly uncommon, but was a nice $20-25 re-list every week.

Yup. They are closed now due to a massive rent increase. The thing is I don't think he could have sold that book for $10 on his wall despite it being an easy $15-25 ebay book then. His clientele was very much standard super hero stuff, walking dead, etc. And he didn't look everything up on eBay. Thank goodness! The Hughes variant I dont get because i assume that was not cheap on the rack ever. Just a mistake. And I happily was not paying attention otherwise I would have sold it fir $25 years ago. In recent years he was missing less stuff though.

I've been searching online for these other two variants but can't find them.

Fantastic Four 60/289 exists as:

9 cent Direct Sales version

$2.25 newsstand version

No-price Baltimore Comic-Con variant

There is also a "Mister Fantastic" variant in a ToyBiz toy - same cover, different title:

Of these books, the newsstand is really hard to find - people didn't know they were doing it.

Let me guess, the day it came out you bought every single copy from every newsstand in the DC metropolitan area? And you haggled the newsstand owners down to $1.50 a copy? :-)

Actually no - I didn't know it existed. First one I ever saw in the wild was in Warner Robins, GA at a comic store by the military base in 2006.
