In the first (and better) story, some enterprising fake sawbones scare the tribe in fearing a typhoid crisis to force them to relocate so they can lay train track. Tonto gloms on to the fakery, gets abducted, is rescued by Scout and then confronts the bad apples before they get arrested. Here are snippets of the story -

Tonto # 9 - Front cover and interior panels.

The stories weren't the most inspired in this issue, both -script and pencil-wise. Still, the two stories had the nice featured of a sense of time when the frontier was still not completely settled and the conflicts were related to the process of cohabitation.

Thought I'd haul this thread back to the front page with this tough DC that I won last night.  I had a copy that I bought raw as a 7.5/8.0 that came back from CGC as a 3.0 , so it's nice to pick up this replacement without breaking the bank.

Heritage had a bunch of early post code books from the Green Valley collection in their recent auctions. I’ve never seen these books in high grade before and was hoping to win several of them. I was bidding on the Avenger, Rusty Boy Detective, Johnny Law and Captain Flash.

I only won 2 but they were the ones I really wanted.
