Things are looking good, our crew starts assembling Thursday, and I'll be heading there Friday morning to join the rest of the comics team for what looks to be a fun show. No comic guest changes or cancellations yet, knock on wood. Looking forward to meeting some of you there.

Some unfortunate news, Greg Rucka has had to bow out, as he's got a bad stomach bug and is too sick to travel. We hope he feels better soon.

He issued the following Tweet just now as his statement:

With regret, I'm having to miss @MegaConTampa this weekend :( due to illness. I *will* be at MegaCon Orlando at the end of May!

So essentially he is now our first announced comics guest for MegaCon Orlando in May.

I went tonight. It was all right. I wanted to see more Comic book dealers myself. A couple guys from Naples had a booth, and they were selling some good stuff at great prices (nice higher grade bronze and copper books 3 for $5, mid to lower grade Silver Age $1). Their booth was always packed.

Seemed to be more t-shirt, Funko, decal, and trinket booths.

Liefield had a decent line of folks waiting for his sig.

Curious to see what kind of crowd they get Sat/Sun. I said it before, they should have put this thing at February or March. It was too soon after the Tampa Comic Con, and there are a lot of Halloween parties for people this weekend.

That's the kind of booth I love, but haven't seen in this area in years. I doubt I'll make it out there though. Too much other stuff I want to do this weekend. If kids were free like at the Tampa Bay Comiccon, I would've bought a three day pass and taken my kids Sunday while I shopped Friday and Saturday like TampaCon. Charging for kids under 13 bothered me since I'm used to free..... Especially for an unproven con.

12 is the standard. There is a coupon to bring kids free - 2 per adult ticket. http://megacontampabay.com/wp-content/uploads/KidsCoupon_MCTB_2016-1.pdf

Show is packed so far today, and my guests are all really happy with their Friday sales.

Yesterday had a fantastic turnout and good crowds that tapered off late in the afternoon, but today is already insane ---the Whovians are out in full force and the show floor is packed.

2017 dates are September 29 - October 1.
