Bronze Age Treasuries

Part of me wishes they did, but another part is glad I don't have t get all my treasuries "slabbed".

I'm not sure how much we can discuss it without causing trouble, but some would argue the "slab" is pointless, as it seems like it would be fairly easy to swap books, though I am saying that with zero actual knowledge, having never held one.

The three treasuries marvel did recently are all still available for reorder, my store got all 3 in for me today.  They have nice retro trade dress and match the classic bronze age Marvel Treasury Edition books quite nicely.  (I do wish they had numbered the issues 29-31, but even I feel that's being overly picky.)  I'm quite happy to add them to my treasury collection:

My Treasury collection stops at the Alex Ross issues.  Bendis is not soiling my Treasury boxes.

Although I don't have the hatred of Bendis some people do, I can respect that position.  I did enjoy the oversized Scottie Young reprint, though.

Does CGC grade treasuries like the other guys do? I see a few high grade, certified books that I would love to own but would refer to have them in CGC slabs.

I have the Batman /Ra's Al Ghul Adams Treasury (C-51) graded by CBCS. They put it in a sturdy plastic sleeve with a backing board. The grade is in a little tab on the front. The sleeve is sealed by two little CBCS tabs on the back. I have to assume if you break the tabs, it voids the grade. Mine is a 9.2. Maybe someday this site won't get all butthurt when we want to show our other books graded by another company. CBCS allows CGC graded scans.

I used to own this @batmiesta - the book is from 1978 and is a Canadian print from Les Editions Heritage. It reprints ASM #94 as I recall - I found these two images on the web to back up my memory:

I don't think it has anything to do with the Treasury #14 - it just shares a cover I think.

Here are scans of the front and back of my old copy:

I think this was part of a set produced around 1982 (?) by les Editions Heritage that included both Archie and Marvel books. Les Éditions normally published in French, but this group was in English. I have a Hulk édition reprinting Hulk 181, and I remember others being available at the same time. These are magazine size issues, though, rather than treasuries, IIRC.

That’s pretty cool. I see fake Dr. Strange, fake Reed Richards, Human Torch.

How big is it?

I apologize for being slow to reply....lay four silver age comics two by two, and you've got the footprint. It's silver, not bronze (1967 I think without looking) and contains art from Wally Wood, Lou Fine, Virgil Finlay and John Stanley. Very cool book (thumbsu

Got this today:

And, while I should be doing one of these

Instead, I am doing one of these :pullhair:

Even though I messaged the guy begging him to package it properly, and he sent back a really nice note stating that he ships things the way he would like them to be shipped to him, he must like things to be shipped to him in old crumpled boxes, without any bubble wrap, and skimpy packing material. The book arrived with a large corner crunch and color breaking crease that wasn't there in the listing photos. Ugh. I'm giving up on eBay.

Ruined my night (I know, first world problems, but still super depressing).

Sending it back for a refund.
