Congrats on this pickup! The thing I love about this particular page is that you can just see his signature style starting to come through. The arch above the eye. Starting to do fun things with the cape. Plus the Neal Adams-esque monolithic head.

I adore Norm Breyfogle's art;

the very first Batman comic I'd ever bought had a Breyfogle cover

and my very first original art purchase was a Breyfogle page.

 

Norm's style is so distinctive and timeless and yet, no one has ever

tried to replicate it (unlike the hordes of Lee/Liefeld clones).

 

The Breyfogle pages I (still) own remain some of my most treasured

pieces in my little collection and you page looks like a keeper too.

Yes. That panel anchors the page and w/out it, it's standard fare. Still good, but man what a great choice.

Great page! I bought Tec #585-586 off the stands back in 1988. Loved the story, cool concept and Breyfogle's art was terrific.
