The original poster of this thread Wayne-Tec hasn't been on since 8/7. Sure hope he's ok. (shrug)

+1.. anyone knows him personally or have his number who can call and check up on him?

Hey guys,

Thanks to all for your concern and well wishes. I'm glad a fellow boardie had his situation resolved. It's good to hear about good stories.

On my end, my package has still not surfaced and I am currently awaiting the result of the claims process. As a collector, this entire ordeal has taken a lot out of me. I lost the centerpiece of my collection. Since then, a similar example sold on CC for over $6,400 -- putting FMV out of my spending range if another Action #1 Superman page came to the market. I'm praying that FedEx makes me whole on the $4,300 I spent to buy the page in the first place. On a non-comic note, it would help tremendously towards my recent medical expenses.

As many of you know, I've long been a regular poster here on the boards. But given the events of the past 2 months, I've found it difficult to maintain my usual level of enthusiasm and spirit.

Nevertheless, I'm hopefully optimistic that things will work out. :wishluck:

Ryan,

It was good to see you post again. You have been missed. Praying for you.

I just wanted to update this thread. Although FedEx Ground was able to eventually find my package last month, THEY LOST ANOTHER ONE this past week!

Same as before. Tracking said it was delivered, but it was not my residence that it was delivered too. They just called to tell me that they have no clue where it went and I should call the shipper (in this case, it was Comicconnect instead of CL) to initiate their lost/missing package procedure.

Thank God it was not a very expensive book (CGC 9.2, 'Tec 431).

That sucks, sorry to hear it. I hope you are able to get something from them.

My experience with FedEx is terrible. They had a package of mine that was opened and contents taken out and resealed. Then their claims process was a farce.

It's not perfect and is slow at times but USPS Registered is the best way to ship expensive items. Best is having those items and the box well documented and appraisals of whats inside.

Hey guys,

I'm looking for any help/advice I can get on this one.

I recently bought an Action Comics #1 Superman page. When I first received it, the old CGC slab had cracked, so I immediately sent it back out to CGC to be re-holdered. I opted to have it shipped to a FedEx ship center because A) I didn't want it left on my porch or sitting around at the local, humid, post office and B) I've had bad experiences with USPS losing packages in the past.

How ironic.

FedEx has since lost my package that was shipped via FedEx Standard Overnight.

Upon first receiving the page in the original slab cracked, I printed out a CGC submission form right there at their ship center and foolishly overlooked the note that when CGC ships packages back to you via FedEx, it will only be covered up to $100. I just assumed that it would be insured on CGC's end. My mistake, and it was a big one. Had I realized that it would only be insured for up to $100, I would have never selected that service.

My package was shipped by CGC on Monday (7/18/16) and was supposed to be delivered Tuesday (7/19/16). Through FedEx tracking, there are no updates since Monday night, when it was said to have arrived in Memphis, Tennessee.

I called FedEx to open up an investigation, they said it will probably be about 24 hours before they get back to me.

Please, any advice anyone could offer would be greatly appreciated. Not only did I spend a ton of money to buy this page, but it's irreplaceable. The classic image of Superman breaking through the chains, it all began on that page.

Now it's missing. Please tell me there is hope.

It's been nearly 3 years since my Action Comics #1 page went missing/stolen.

Has anyone seen it resurface?

I think about this page every day. :sorry:

Almost three years....I can feel your pain and share my pain with you.  My beloved Detective Comics #402 CGC 9.6 White pages is still missing over four years. I consigned with Clink. It was mailed through USPS. Never arrived and never found. I sometimes think about it.

That’s awful. I feel for your man.

I think about my Action Comics #1 page every single day.

Did you ever get made whole at least for the most package?  I have seen some single pages but never your exact one. I have been checking every time I see one.

I feel so bad for you man...it was definitely stolen, but only a not very intelligent person would crack it out of the slab....CGC has a serial number for it...unfortunately not all people use the registry....

May I ask

Have you been collecting much since the heartbreak?

I hope so...

I have been. But this haunts me every day as a collector. I keep dreaming about it being recovered—but until that happens, I have these get-wrenching knots in my stomach.
