It’s the ugliest copy around, but I picked up the CL copy of #4 in the last auction.  Rivets are rivets even if they aren’t the prettiest.  One step closer to having them all.

Crikey that ain't that bad. The piece missing is not the worst by any means. The cover is not detached, nothing is missing or incomplete, story is not affected. Pages are not brittle etc.

Score!!

You don't see Aussie versions of Planet too often.  Have any of you seen another?

I snagged this off of ebay last week, just because I thought it was cool.  Paper quality is horrible on these.  The cover stock is the same as the interior paper.

I have several, always on the lookout for more.

Those are great!  I love em.  Your's look in good shape for such poor paper quality.

Someone needs to take that #15 and turn it into a "Starlord/Gamora" homage cover.

Yes I am pretty happy with them with the exception of the #1. The paper quality is awful on them I agree. The #15 I have is my favorite as it is the nicest condition Aussie copy I have, and I love that image. I have been trying to get a nice copy of Man Of Mars for awhile now but keep missing them when they are available.

I can understand the Planet fanatic ( :insane: ) wanting to be completist, and the quirkiness of the books may appeal to some...but I just can't get past the paper quality and quite clumsy printing techniques.

They just don't float my boat. Interesting to behold but I personally am not a fan.

For me, the challenge of trying to find decent presenting copies is appealing. The books are so fragile that most the copies I find are beat, ripped up, folded, and generally in good or worse. I seem to find about 1 decent presenting book a year, and when I do find them they don't break the bank. That the books relate to the main title that I have a complete run of also motivates me. All that said, I definitely understand why you are not a fan. I know of another board member that has a few of these that I don't have.

For those who do not know: the paper these are printed on is a very cheap newsprint stock. It is of ever so slightly thinner thickness to the newsprint used in the regular Planet Comics.

The front cover is color, the interiors of these and back covers are black and white.

I really like the black and white interiors.
