This is not a new acquisition, I just wanted to post a Planet book here to take a few moments and have “fun” sharing and thinking/talking  about our great hobby. If you feel the need with all going on in the world to just take a moment to post a Planet then by all means do so. It could be a nice diversion , if only for a moment.....

Day 7

Let’s face it, there is a long list of Planets that are tough. There is also an equally long list of Planets that are in abundant supply. Planet 6 is on the first list. Overstreet and Gerber concur on its difficulty.  This book has some of the Cherished reds we all wish were on our FH books. I like the odd angles of this cover and the multiple levels of action going on. Take a deep look at the cover, you might see some things you don’t notice at a first glance. Lastly, White pages which are a real joy for any GA book.

Weirdly for some reason, this book doesn't get the love that many of the other early Planets get. I agree with you, Kelly, this cover has so much going on. To me it's the epitome of Year 1 of Planet Comics.

Day 8

This book needs no introduction. The scan speaks for itself. I will say that I think 14 is more tough/rare/difficult than the notoriously elusive 15 IMO, even more so in grade.

Kind of surprised I didn’t get any friendly debate on this comment.....🤔

The numbers on the census suggest about the same number of copies.

I think it's hard to find both of these books in grade.

In terms of the cover, #14 gets the nod.

But in terms of mystique, #15 gets the nod. And of course in terms of price.

Color-wise, the best #12 I've ever laid eyes on. If they all looked that way, it would be a top 10 Planet.

Yes, it's the only one I've seen like this in thirty years of collecting Planets, yet rarely engenders this kind of comment, even though it is eminently worthy. [And the scan is accurate.]

Several years ago, Harley had the Cosmic Aeroplane copy of PL 12 raw and I got excited upon first seeing it. However upon handling the book, I saw that the spine was badly splitting.

I still might have bought the book, but the 12 cover is not one of my favorites so I passed. Oops.

I’ve told this story before, long ago Jon Berk and I were box digging at SDCC and I pulled this book out. Jon was looking over my shoulder and once   he recognized the book as a Larson, I could feel his virtual drool on my shoulder. xD

I handed Jon the book and the rest is history...
