Looks like a sticker was removed from the CGC label.  I wonder if this was one of Kelly's old copies with the "Marathon Planet Collection" stickers on it.

Here is what one looks like in case you were wondering what we are talking about.....

The number at the bottom designates what order I acquired the book in. For example, this is the 8th Planet I picked up.

so this is a sticker of your own making?

Yes, I designed it. When I first started collecting, I thought I would keep my books for along time. I used the sticker to identify and record my books as to which ones I acquired in order. Turns out I let go of a few every now and then. I even have the sticker on a few more books than Planets, but they have no number at the bottom. I still own these, one has a sticker.....

It was fun to design, and as a I sold some I left the sticker on hoping they would stay so I could identify them. Might be hard to tell, but it is a clear circle sticker with blue or black printing of a circle planet with a few meteor holes sticking out with the words marathon Planet collection. The word PLANET  is in full rivet design. I’ll try and get a better/closer pic later.

I think I bought a Planet off of you a few years back, not sure though. Do you recall if I did? Wondering if I have a sticker.

Kelly, those early Jungles are incredible.
Also, here is the link to a kelholt post more than 10 years old about the Marathon Planet stickers (super cool ideas):

This is a screen shot of your post for the only book I remember selling you. I think Markentoth owns it now.

Stickers were cool but now I’m curious if Rick removed it? ???

Such a great shot.  Black batman and supes covers in the same month, that's pretty neat.  I actually have a copy of that Buck Rogers 3 and prince valiant 25 sitting next to me atm.
