YYZ

:cloud9:

YYZ is awesome, but La Villa Strangiato would be unreal.

Long time Rush fan here. :hi:

I've also worked on both Geddy Lee's cars (in two different shops) and also helped restore Alex Lifeson's e-Type Jag. Also dropped a car off at Geddy's house as teenager.

Love La Villa Strangiato even more than YYZ. :cloud9:

Has anybody told you lately that "You are awesome".

I will remind myself the next time you are in my presence that I am standing next to the mechanic that worked on Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson's cars.

Not just a mechanic Bob, a Mercedes Benz mechanic :baiting:

Get your facts straight :sumo:

Jim

A Mercedes Benz mechanic that can't construct a stage out of wood... :baiting:

If I wasn't going to be locked up grading, I'd offer....just need some 2/4s, some plywood, screws and a screw gun most likely... :P

Carpenter love fest, going on here there is.

The ability to build is not the issue. It's the time and location :pullhair:

Maybe try a local university's theater group? I was part of the one at USNA ;)

Probably a few geeks on the stage crew who might exchange their time for some comics or passes to the show or something... :foryou:

YYZ is awesome, but La Villa Strangiato would be unreal.

What would be unreal would be finding anyone but Alex Lifeson who can play it right. lol

Exactly!

The thing is though, how many people are even going to notice or care if it is just 80-90% right? Only a few Rush fans and musicians, and not even all of those! It all comes down to who is willing to put in the time to make everything note for note when few if ever will even notice how exact the performance is to the original. Heck I don't have the patience to learn all my stuff note for note. I'm more interested in the babes in the crowd moreso than pleasing the couple of musicians waiting to pick everything apart and be critics. As a musician I keep this in mind when seeing other performers too. I get no more satisfaction from seeing a guy nail it note for note than one who doesn't get it exactly right but still plays really well. I'm more interested in great musicians than musicians just playing something exactly like the original. Sorry, a bit of topic!

I'm going to rent a banana costume and go on stage and do the dancing banana

Do it

He'd be better off playing a turnip.

I can't let this pass.

I suggest he go as a radish.

With or without the leaves intact?

.38 Special? Why are you trying to sabotage Roy's show? At least pick a good guitarist from a band that doesn't suck .

Carlisi is a great guitarist who wrote or co-wrote most of .38 Special's hits. Nobody plays the guitar quite like him, not flashy, but brilliant solos and he can play virtually anything. Check out his website and linked performances with Paul Rodgers.

He's also modest and a team player. :baiting:

I'm expecting "Matt" the mad axeman Schnecker to appear

If Dolmayan can channel Cozy Powell so much the better

Roy could just contact Michael Schenker and wouldn't need diversions for his platform launch.

No axeman I'm aware of is madder or more incindiary than Michael Schenker. :insane:

Is Corky Laing still touring? First tier drumming and no channeling required!

Just yankin' chains here (on Roy's budget I doubt KFC delivery from Buckethead is an option). ;)

I've got another request.

Is there a graphic designer with basic skills who wants to help out with making a simple flyer for the show?

I have a graphic and just need some basic info placed into a form that can be printed. Again, willing to pay in comics or monetary compensation, your choice.

If you're coming to the show, even better! I'll buy you a drink as well, as a show of appreciation!

Drop me a PM if interested.
