Anyone know if there's any reference guide for cgc certified Sports Illustrateds? Anyone collecting old SI?

Yes!  I'm a big collector of Sports Illustrated issues.  Definitely a growing category and a ton of fun

These guys (Eerie) seem to do a lot better in the VF range than Marvel or Warren mags.

There’s a good reason for that. Most of the Eerie Pub titles were treated like dirt and not really collected as much. HG examples go for a definite premium! (thumbsu

So, I was a severe underbidder on this one; it went for way more than I would have expected given that, while it's a nice copy, it sure doesn't look like it could get much higher than an 8.5 to me even with a clean & press.  I'm not the expert on grading, though. I'll content myself with the lower grade copy that started at $1.99 and nobody but me bid on.

Tonight on the MCS auction was another one for the record books.  Vampirella 1 shows no signs of slowing down.  I'm including a close up scan of the Vampi 1 for better reference.

Also, the Eerie 23 is pretty impressive as well.  Especially since they're both raw sales!

That means my 9.0 Vampirella #1 signed by Neal Adams should be a gold mine

If a raw Vampi 6.0 sold for $915 a CGC 6.5 should be at least a $1,000, right?

We may need to allow for the fact at least some of the bidders were figuring on Line Star's notorious tendency to undergrade.  But your general statement is probably correct.

I believe it was in the January MCS auction that a CGC 6.5 copy sold for a shade over 700.  Crazy what's going on with prices these days.

The one thing I have going for me is I know my two Vampis were not pressed as I submitted both of them. Could be a nice "selling feature". I think its pretty safe to assume the guy I bought them from on Craigslist who had them sitting in a stack of magazines on his back seat with no bags and boards didn't have them pressed.
