I remember buying NM/M copies of both books from Worlds finest many years ago, I think they were from a collection from Washington if memory serves, there was also multiples of Iron man#1, Sub-mariner #1, Captain Marvel #1 and others, all in NM or better, I sold both books through Vault auctions years ago......I am about to cry.

Managed to find the Worlds Finest catalogue I was on about.

I remember that catalog well. Back in those days it was fairly accepted that the ‘68 Marvel explosion books would never be worth all that much as they were so plentiful. This find was a bigger bargain than anyone could have imagined. I passed on all of this stuff and bought some Fawcetts from them instead.

I remember calling Mark Wilson to order a few other books from the catalog. He went on and on about how great the NM/NM+ books were and what a great investment they would be. He almost talked me into buying them but I ended up just getting the books I called about.doh!

Anyone know if Mark Wilson is still in the business today?

CGC graded it 9.6 with white pages, with presumably the slight fuzzing of the lower left corner keeping the book from a higher grade.  The paper and cover inks looked brand new.

I have had 9.8s back that don't look that good.

Seeing some real strong prices being paid for many of our beloved wretched rags...

The Best offer Accepted's (slash through price) seem to have been within 10% of original ask...

Got to say $200+ for a Vampire Tales #2 8.0.  Things are heating up in our kitchen.

Great to see Savage Tales 1 seeing some interest. Even at the $1400+ sold price, I think this book is undervalued.  Just wish they'd give Man-Thing a decent on screen treatment. The first movie was a joke.
