PGM Showcase 34 First Atom

Really trying to get a grip on where this will grade out to decide if I should CGC it. Small 4 inch piece of tape on inside front cover to help with a few small tears. Very interested to see grading thoughts and also if I can expect to see a reference to the interior cover tape on the cover of the greased case.

I think tape will be mentioned on label/case, but book will get blue label.

 

I'm no expert.

 

Before the 'green eggs' contest I would've graded it 4.5, but now I'll predict a much stronger 5.0 to 5.5.

I'm gonna' be a bit tougher on this book but the grader above is a bit higher in the standings than I am currently. Amateur repairs are not allowed in 5.0's according to the '92 grading guide and this comic has tape which could be considered an amateur repair...so because of the tape and general wear on the book I'll go 4.0. Not thinking it's any worse, but could be a bit better on good day.

This is a bit of my fear. Was suggested that this is somewhere between Fine, Fine +, F-VF and thinking we may be off a few grades here.

Would love any more input.
