ComicLink auction starts tonight ...

Early Actions are crashing.

I think this is one of the shortcomings of the internet where there is more than one market

There is a large segment of collectors that don't want slabbed books and pay strong for nice looking raw books (my raw Action auctions did reasonable well a few months ago).

I was surprised the Action 17 5.0 did not go higher?
Yeah, that's one I wish I had gone after. It sold for $3,500. Under guide for a 1939 Superman Action cover seems like a great deal. The auction listing also mentioned a 6.0 sold for $11,500 a few months back.

A 5.0 with SB pages sold for $3400 on ebay back in July. What was the PQ on this one?

The 5.0 at Comiclink had cream to off-white pages. Looked pretty nice for the grade too.

Seems like a sweet deal was had then. I have to say, the pricing on 17,19 & 20 are a bit hard for me to follow. All are pretty neat covers, but seem to bounce around in value.

As I have said, a lot of big hits with this CLink auction here, but also a lot of misses relative not only to the lofty expectations of some boardies here, but also some when compared to the more conservative prices in the OS guide. hm

I guess it's a matter of trying to maneuver your way through to search out some of the bargains. :wishluck:

the 20 I won sold for less than the last 2.0 in 2014 did—and less than every other copy I have been offered over the past 10 years of looking.... is that good or bad?

That can only be bad. Early Actions are crashing. Sell before it's too late!!

They need to crash a lot more. I'm still disappointed about not getting my "affordable because no one would pay over 10k for one in such crappy condition" Action #13....

Three bids in the last second. I was watching at 2 seconds left it was at $3800

You'd think the Penguin was on the cover at that price.

Sniped on the 1.8 Tec 225 in the last second. Looked decent for a 1.8, and still went for a little less than ebay prices.

Action 23, 6.5 for $28k. :o

The 3.0 for $8357 was nothing to sneeze at either.

I'm wondering if any Gators took a bite out of either one of those (or both).... hm

-J

nope...I Think I sold a 6.5 last year for 18K...too rich for my blood

Damn that's almost what a 5.0 Voldy went for last month.

Are you trying to tell us that the Voldy's are selling for more than what a higher grade CGC copy was even selling for. :o:baiting:

lol I see what you're doing there but that's impossible to say. The Voldy Action 23, 5.0 sold for $15.5k last month and Gator said he thinks he sold a 6.5 for $18k a year (or more?) ago.

Too much time and grade differntial to draw any conclusions , or comparisons , and the book has been in overdrive all year.

-J.

Jay,

Sorry, just to confirm - a CGC 3.0 went for nearly $8.5k?

Any other low grade sales to compare that to (for clarity, I do own a very low grade copy, but had no idea it had blown up so dramatically)

Thanks Jay, if you can spare any info on low grade sales. (thumbs u

A book I won last night was at one price with -- apparently -- zero seconds left. When I received the Winning Bidder e-mail a couple of minutes later, the price was considerably higher.

YES! Early Actions are crashing and the sky is falling, but if you act fast, you might still be able to save yourself.

Quick, sell me your early Actions, before it is too late!!!

Duh;)

That's what this one looked like, too. I've been outbid on everything so far, so I keep upping my bids on the last page.

Luckily I'll be at a concert tomorrow night and I never phone bid.

Maybe I'll be smart and leave my phone in the car, lol.

Yeah, I watched the countdown to zero, and thought I'd won a book, only to see I'd been outbid when refreshing my tracking page. The history shows the bid came in 7 seconds before close, so unlike ebay, the bids must not get updated immediately.
