I agree the 000 newsstand is really hard to find.   It seems like I've looked at 100 copies of the newsstand issue, but I finally found another one.   So I have a spare.    If anyone needs it, send me a PM.

So this is either ;

1) a 1st print newsstand cover on a 2nd print direct interior.

2) a 7th variant

Until we confirm at least one more copy like this, I have to lean towards option 1.

Actually, I think your first response was the correct one..it was a mislabel by CGC.  I checked a similar copy that was rejected, and it does not have the 2nd Print designation in the indicia, but CGC still labeled it as a 2nd print on the invoice.  I think it was a mistake on my part when I filled out the paperwork because a number of 2nd printings of various books went in on the same invoice.   Apparently, no one at CGC caught the mistake either.    Good Grief.   Hell will resume it's thaw momentarily.

Well he could always sell it as ‘mislabeled’, that’s kinda cool too.

I was checking the census and was shocked to see three 9.6s for this book. The highest we’d seen is 8.5.

Then I remembered the mislabeled book above and when I doubled check...it’s a 9.6 too.

I suspect all three 9.6s might be mislabeled books until we get visual confirmation.

 

UPDATE:

By checking the mislabeled book’s certification number I was able to find the other two 9.6s which had been submitted all together. They end in 24, 25 & 26.

Don't see anything near that. A CGC 7.5 sold yesterday for just over $1k.

I also just picked up a new unknown copy on eBay last week so there’s either 15 or 16 known copies now.

I don't believe the CGC copy was mentioned on here.

wow... they are getting to be as common as ditch water!   Now somebody please find the corresponding 2nd print newsstand of Superman #50.  We know one exists.   I would gladly pay $200 for it.
