For some reason I can't change my avatar. I click the button to load a file and then pick the file. Then I hit submit, but it just keeps my old one.

 

Am I doing something wrong?

Sometimes it takes a while to update, perhaps if the mods have to approve it. Give it a few hours.

So clearly there isn't some kind of long waiting period. No clue why my avatar is not updating . Even when I first pick to not have an avatar and then load a new one it keeps going back to my old one.

I've had to resize mine several times to get them to work, even when it's under the maximum dimensions. Are you getting an error message after you submit it that says it's too large maybe?

Nope. Just says my changes were saved.

Click the refresh button in the address bar. This usually works for me.

I clicked the refresh button, loaded & reloaded my avatar, and it still took a couple days for the change to take effect.

It appears the function isn't consistent between different accounts.

I even rebooted. I guess nothing to do but wait.

My Halloween avatar is a year round thing.

it took me several times to change mine-- resizing the original image to fit the smallish 75x75 pixel limitations. seems like it is better to start with a lower res original to achieve this also.

If the radio button is not selected it will look like it worked but it will not change your avatar.
