30/09/17 - We may as well make this a home for all your Marvel Australian Price Variants so post them if you have them! :headbang:

Hello.

Not sure if this has been covered already or elsewhere, but if anyone is interested in Australian Price Variants, here's a summary of which ASM issues exist:

Like the Pence and Canadian variants, these were produced at the same time as the US versions, with printing plate changes for the price / date details.

They're not often discussed, even by ASM completists, but I like them.

I found a 373 at the LCS for like $2 and quickly bought it. Never found any others but I am gracious to get this information. Thank you!

You're welcome. It won't take too long to collect them all if you watch Ebay Australia diligently. About 10 years I reckon!

And that concludes our walk through Amazing Spider-Man First Printing Australian Price Variants.

I hope this helps some future completist / completionist / nutter in some way. Remember, if you decide to go after them you will need patience and the ability to not get annoyed when your promised NM turns up a G+

If anyone finds any issues I missed in the hunt, do dive in.

Good luck, G-Day and be seeing you!

If somebody is into Australian editions they should visit a terrible site that is full of misleading statements, unbelievably faulty logic, inaccurate assumptions and outright misinformation? O.o

Sorry to go off topic, and I asked in the darkhawk thread already, but does anyone know if there are any Australian darkhawk comics?

Not at all @revat, glad of the interest!

Amazing Spider-Man appeared with single AUS prices between Nov 1990 and Nov 1996 - Darkhawk 1-50 exists between those dates so it's a possibility. There used to be a great Australian Comic Shop website that had an Australian Printings Section and that had loads of titles as I recall. Alas, I can't find the site now - it must have gone out of business or something - so there are very few sources of info on these. It's why I posted the ASM details, to help others in the hunt.

A quick check of Ebay Australia shows no copies of Darkhawk with single AUS prices available or sold (you need to look for newsstand copies). That doesn't mean they don't exist, but it doesn't look hopeful. Maybe the title was not considered big enough to warrant printing / shipping over?

Good luck if you decide to keep digging - let us know if it turns anything up (thumbsu

These are really nice. These foreign editions are the final frontier IMO.

I agree. Once you have collected the US editions, going after the Pence, Canadian and Australian first prints are a great way to continue the hobby. They are all 'true' first printings from the US and, in the case of the Australian editions, can match the 35 cent variants for scarcity. :cloud9:
