Me too :)

The Edgar Church copy of Gay #24 was suspiciously missing from the Heritage spring signature auction. I wonder who owns it. (shrug)

You could have bought it from Chuck for $25 if you had been more alert in 1977!

Popularity and prices of books in this genre have been skyrocketing - especially in the past 6 - 8 months.

However, it seems that this thread has been declining in activity. (shrug)

I'm pretty sure he wouldn't have grouped them like that if he was expecting that result.

I've noticed groupings of Timely/Atlas GGA humor on Heritage go for insane prices. They routinely get top dollar for individual books as well, but the groupings seem to sell for even more on a pro-rated basis. That Hedy lot is a perfect example, there is no way those would average $528 apiece sold individually, a couple issues might hit that if slabbed, but not the whole lot.

Do you decide on the groupings, or is that HA's decision?

They do. I’ll contact them when I see the previews if I think something should be changed. They’ve been very responsive in making the changes I’ve asked for.

I don't know.  One downside of having several books in a lot rather than listing them individually is that you typically get a full cover shot of just one book.  For the rest, you have to rely on the letter grade they assign, along with (occasionally) the noting of a significant defect. I could see this deterring some bidders -- it's deterred me sometimes.

And, of course, somebody who wants only a single book from the lot and who might have paid a high price for it, may not bid at all because he doesn't want to get stuck paying for the other books.
