If people keep lapping up the garbage they offer us like good little fanboys, it will never get better.

Marvel has made a bunch of movies that are both entertaining and make sense, so it can be done. DC even managed to do it a few times, despite their best efforts

...and most comics are unreadable junk.

How dare you offend Thor: The Dark World like that. :baiting:

Things like the Transformer movies prove that (sadly)...

Always the examples that come to mind, but even the American public has its limits. The last installment bombed in the US, though it took pairing the Transformers with Merlin to do it...a plot line so absurd it almost can't be satirized.

A bunch, definitely not all. :( I know I saw that movie, but I honestly don't remember anything about it. Probably for all of the reasons laid out in that video.

Godzilla vs. Kong has officially received its PG-13 rating from the MPA. The upcoming MonsterVerse installment is one of Warner Bros. biggest upcoming pictures. Sadly, no footage has been shown thus far, aside from a brief snippet not meant for the general public.

Unarguably, Godzilla and Kong are the two most famous movie monsters in popular culture. TOHO brought the two creatures together for the first time in 1962. King Kong vs. Godzilla remains one of the most successful Godzilla films ever made, delivering a showdown fans can never forget. Few thought it wound happen again, but the two titans are coming together this year in Godzilla vs. Kong. Legendary Pictures has been building towards this for a little while now. The ending of Godzilla: King of the Monsters teases this rivalry between the two. Details on why they are fighting remain unconfirmed. The context was far different in 1962, where Godzilla was purely antagonistic. In the new continuity, the characters fall on the side of good. Fans are anxiously waiting to see how the battle goes down between Godzilla, and a larger, bearded Kong.

Another film that will suck to not see in theaters. The SFX suffer tremendously from a "home theater" experience when compared to an actual theater.

There’s something to be said about sitting in an IMAX theater and actually looking up at a giant Godzilla and hearing that bass moving in a wide open space as opposed to a confined living room with an HDTV.

I saw Godzilla (2014) in theaters with my mom, and remember how tremendous the SFX were - especially when he roared and the atomic breath. This wasn't a special Dolby theater, either.

I saw it with my dad after home release, and while he has a great sound system, it was extremely underwhelming. I kinda felt bad for him not experiencing it in the same way.

First look footage out of CCXP reveals a look at Godzilla vs Kong. The highly anticipated movie is set to bring together Legendary Pictures' monsters for the first time in their shared universe. The movie is a sequel to Godzilla: King of the Monsters and Kong: Skull Island. Those two films were released in 2019 and 2017, respectively. Since then, a match up between the two monsters has been teased by Legendary Pictures.

Starring Millie Bobby Brown, Kyle Chandler, Alexander Skarsgård, Rebecca Hall, and Brian Tyree Henry, the film is set to hit theaters May 21. In a surprising move earlier this week, Warner Bros. announced that all their 2021 films, including Godzilla vs Kong, will be hitting theaters and HBO Max the same day. The film will remain available on the platform for free for a month.

Footage screened during CCXP gives a first look at the two monsters. Close ups show them ready to fight, with Godzilla swimming and Kong with what appears to be a chain around his neck. The color palette is again emphasized, with Godzilla drenched in dark blue and Kong against the bright orange sky. The clip is one of the first looks at the monsters as fans await the release of an official trailer. The footage also emphasizes their match, with the clip made to look as if the two monsters are barreling towards each other.
