In hockey, a r o v e r is a defenseman that plays something of a 4th forward, or a "utility" player that plays both forward and defense.

Well, I should say I don't know of any significance of that word in any way that would trip up board filters/censors (it's not a naughty word, and I don't know of any web services that go by the term that would conflict with CGC.)
