thoughts on where this badboy ends up? Imagine it will crush the last gpa of $41k set in 2015 for a 3.5

Seeing how the GL#1 recently exploded, this book could be in for a special ride. I'm setting the over/under at 75k

It will go way over guide, exactly how high is anyones guess. I think $80k is on the high side but cracking $60k would not surprise me.

I wouldn't single out Green Lantern, but all of the second tier Das have been getting pretty strong prices. Look at the Flash 1 that was auctioned on HA recently. Wasn't that long ago that a book like that would be "affordable" Same for All Star 3, was a "dead" title but now going for a very strong price. Last time a blue 3.5 was auctioned was in 2015 on HA and it hammered at $41k.

For some reason HA gets higher prices than others.

GL 1 has exploded?

Perhaps too big of a statement if the sale of the GL#1 5.5 for $14,800 last Dec on CC was an outlier. Or it's indicator of levels that book will continue to realize, we'll see. All bets are off if Alan Scott appears in the Green Lantern Corps film but that's a ways away.

The last time a universal copy was offered was 2 years ago, nothing in between (public or private) ?

I don't believe the sale price realized was an outlier. Personally from my point of view, If you take a closer look at the CGC 5.5 graded copy of GL 1, it would appear to me that the grading on this book is in reality the real outlier here:

Another one of the way too many beautiful GA books that were caught in the CGC grading hissy fit time period of summer/early fall of 2016. My question is at what point does extreme tight grading becomes blatant undergrading? The answer is probably GA books graded by CGC during this time period and which will become evident in the coming months as they hit the auction block. hm

Unless there is something really wrong within the interior of this GL 1, does this really look like a 5.5 F- copy based upon the front and back cover scans of the book to your eyes? :screwy:

I think it'll be in that same ballpark—right around $41K. $50K wouldn't surprise me, but neither would $30K.

While I like the PQ, the silverfish damage on the front cover is quite obtrusive and the book looks fugly to me.

back in 2010 I owned 2 of the , at that time, 3 cgc 3.5 copies (the third had lt pages so while I was offered it, I passed ). I sold this one and kept the other bc the silver fish damage really bothered me
