PRIZE 1

DAREDEVIL 9     G/VG to VG-        OWW

AUGUST 1965.  Stan Lee story.  Wally Wood art.  Bobby Powell inks.  Sammy Rosen lettering.

“THAT HE MAY SEE!”  FEATURING:  THE MURDEROUS MENACE OF…THE KILLER’S CASTLE!

Very nicely presenting book for the grade!  For me rusty staples knock this book down about a grade and half…2 grades.

FRONT COVER.  Along with those rusty staples, we have a light CB crease running from the A in DAREDEVIL down through DD’s right eye to the bottom edge.  Fuzzy top spine corner otherwise no creasing with sharp right corners and sharp edges.  Decent level of color and gloss.  JUN 10 1965 date stamp at top margin above the V in DAREDEVIL.

BACK COVER.  Light parallel NCB crease along spine from bottom corner to about mid-book.  Cover is shifted a bit exposing about 1/8-inch pages to view.  Small stain at bottom left corner…slightly faded white background.

STRUCTURE.  Nice structure…book lays flat.  Near perfect centering with a uniform 1/6-inch overlap of FC to BC.  Centerfold is secure with those perfectly centered rusty staples…minimal migration only within the influence of the staples.

INSIDE COVERS.  Inside covers are slightly faded…rust migration evident at inside FC about 3/16-inch into the cover.  No creasing.

PAGE QUALITY.  Nicely consistent OFF-WHITE to WHITE pages throughout…COMPLETE.  Cool ad between pp. 4 and 5 for Spider-Man 28 and Sgt. Fury 21.  Also full page ad near end of book for JOURNEY INTO MYSTERY/THOR ANNUAL 1.

PRIZE 2  TWO BOOKS

FANTASTIC FOUR 51       FN QUALIFIED    OWW

JUNE 1966.  Stan Lee story.  Jack Kirby art. Joe Sinnott inks.  Artie Simek lettering.

“THIS MAN…THIS MONSTER!”  CLASSIC FF COVER AND STORY!

Not quite sure how to grade this so I’ll attach the “Qualified” designation to it.  Book is a strong fine to fine/very fine whereas (presumably) some youngster decided it would be a swell idea to attach full-length tape reinforcement along the spine…primarily visible on the back cover and lapping to the front cover about 1/8-inch.

FRONT COVER.  Nary a crease with the only real issues to mention some abraded color loss at the bottom right corner and some minor fuzziness at the top and bottom spine corners.  Some light NCB parallel creasing along the spine.  Little thumb crease at right edge/Sue’s hair just breaking color…otherwise edges are super crisp and clean.  Color and gloss are decent but a little flat.

BACK COVER.  Back cover is crease-free with a slightly faded all white back panel.  Just a hint of roundedness at the top and bottom spine corners.

STRUCTURE.  Book is slightly misaligned at the spine with visible white from the BC tapering to view from the bottom spine to top.  Centerfold is rigidly attached with perfectly centered rust-free staples.

INSIDE COVERS.  Interiors are lightly tanned with virtually no creasing…super clean.

PAGE QUALITY.  Consistently nice OFF-WHITE to WHITE pages throughout…COMPLETE.  Page 14 sports a Dr. Strange-esque photographic image of Sub-Space.

FANTASTIC FOUR 75       FN to FN-             OWW

JUNE 1968.  Stan Lee and Jack Kirby story.  Jack Kirby art.  Joe Sinnott inks.  Artie Simek lettering.

WORLDS WITHIN WORLDS!  Iconic red and yellow cover featuring Galactus and Silver Surfer.

Very nicely presenting book for the grade.  Has the general snap of a book off the rack with several issues commensurate with the grade.

FRONT COVER.  Small CB creases at lower right corner.  Some abrasion at upper right corner/top edge creating some color loss…diagonal NCB crease/bend at same area.  Some other random NCB creases and dents here and there…abrasion causing slight color loss along the spine above lower staple…minor fuzziness at top and bottom spine corners…some small crimpling at bottom edge from spine corner about an inch and half in…and a 3/16 round depression at the top right corner of the title banner just below Sue’s head.  Strong color and gloss.  Light MAR 7 1968 date stamp at top of logo.

BACK COVER.  Diagonal NCB crease corresponding with FC at upper left corner…NCB crease at lower left white margin about 2-inches above the bottom left corner.  General soiling most prominent along the spine.

STRUCTURE.  Book lays flat with perfect centering and near perfectly placed staples.  Centerfold is secure with perfectly centered rust-free staples.

INSIDE COVERS.  Inside covers are in nice shape with some reflective impressions of the creases and dents on the outside corner…otherwise nice OW in PQ with no perimeter tanning.

PAGE QUALITY.  Pages are a nice OFF-WHITE to WHITE consistently throughout.  Book is COMPLETE.  Cool full-page Galactus panel on page 4.

Here is my addition to the game giveaway. Here is an interesting one shot from the seventies done entirely by the great Neal Adams.   It's definitely an oddball title that you don't see everyday.   None of the panels have been colored. Definitely nothing you will see someone else donate! :D no NM98... but, you get oddball free stuff from an oddball first-time donator! ♡Resized_20170314_203738.thumb.jpg.dbd64f124db0aa7bef83c8e271711482.jpg
