It's nice to see the correct 'UK Price Variant' label being used but I have to say I really dislike the customised character labels. The image of Spidey here is a modern one - not particularly good - and seems at odds on this old Ditko cover. The label looks dark, busy and it detracts (in my view) from the book itself. The book should be the showcase every time, not some funky label.

A poor move on CGC's part I think. The pursuit of money superseding respect for the book and those that worked on it.

I think the labels, "can be fun", I agree on this one it's lacking in execution, but more importantly with the new labels, I don't know where to look  like with the "tape on interior spine" that's my biggest gripe. Edit, that's an important notation almost missed hiding in clutter....

I don't like that the info is on the back of the label.  LCS near me has an IM 55 with an IM label.  The modern art looks out of place, but money talks.

About 2 days after I complained somewhere that Star Wars pence variants were getting hard to find at a reasonable price, I spotted these on ebay UK with a BIN at just over a tenner -

Looking closer, the lot also had a #6 reprint, which, though still a reprint, is pretty rare.

And both the #8 & #10 have Mark Jeweller inserts -

This arrived today. I don't normally buy pre-hero stuff but what the hell. It's actually my oldest book now and structurally is in great shape.

It displays the normal Marvel indicia inside with just a line underneath saying it's distributed by Thorpe & Porter, in case you're wondering, Steve.
