March Madness Grading Tournament - Round of 64
3 3

Congrats to everyone who participated. a great score may still not be enough to win if your opponent is on fire the same round.

That's the beauty of March Madness.  beat the person in front of you and you move on.

My guesses:

DD            8.0
FF              5.5
FLASH      5.5
HERC        9.2

I had the Flash as a 6.0 and graded it down when I saw the thingy (I thought it was a tape pull) on the back cover.

But that DD...the lower back corner threw me for a loop. I wasn't sure if it was a bindery chip, blunted corner or piece missing (I hadn't discovered the large scans). I stick by my grade though, there is no way that outer cover is higher than an 8.0. If I was you I'd send it back to CGC immediately and tell them they graded it too high.

Congrats to all those who advanced!

:sorry:

Large scans on the old Boards :luhv:

Hey BlowUpTheMoon,

If you post just the links without the image tags (meaning get rid of the img before and after the link) and then check the "display as a link instead" option when the reply box auto embeds them, you should get links to your larger scans without having to use the old boards.

Like so (using the overtime books from this round - I took the image codes from the old boards):

I'm with the others, Flash looked 6.0 until the back cover stain (supposedly CGC "hammers stains") so reduced guess to 5.0, and had the DD pegged right at 9.2 but reduced guess to 9.0 because of the math behind the scoring as a sorta 'hedge.'  And the splits and missing corners and tears on the FF struck me as an avg. copy.  Bummed that comicdey didn't participate (he won or placed high last tounrey).
