TITANS: Get Your First Look At Brenton Thwaites In His Robin Costume

titans_robin-first-look-final.jpg?w=599&

Quote

Australian actor Brenton Thwaites was most recently seen in the 5th installment of the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales. He was cast in the lead role of Grayson in DC Entertainment's live-action Titans series earlier this year, in August.

It was thought that Thwaites would be suiting up as Nightwing on the show but he just might be saving the day in his Boy Wonder attire, at least at the start of the series. However, Lindsey Gort (The Carrie Diaries) was cast to play Amy Rohrbach, a Bludhaven Police Det. and partner of Grayson during his stint on the police force. Though the first official image from the show features Thwaites as Robin, will he actually wear his second costume in one of the latter episodes?

Titans is rumored to have a 13-episode first season and will premiere in 2018 as part of the launch line-up of DC Entertainment's untitled streaming platform.

On the heels of our first official look at Brenton Thwaites as Robin in DC's upcoming Titans series, the Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell no Tales actor has shared another photo of himself in his Boy Wonder getup, this time sans mask.

Accompanying the image is an interesting tidbit, as Thwaites reveals that he's in the middle of shooting a fight-scene that takes place in a Gotham alleyway.

Minka Kelly Teases Hawk & Dove In 'Titans' Behind-The-Scenes Photo

Production on the upcoming live-action Titans series is in full swing - and one of its stars just shared an awesome behind-the-scenes image. Minka Kelly, who will play Dawn Granger/Dove in Titans, recently shared a photo of her and co-star Alan Ritchson's on-set chairs on her Instagram story.

The chairs show off Ritchson and Kelly's roles as the DC Comics duo Hawk and Dove, with Kelly adding emoji birds into the photo. Unfortunately, this behind-the-scenes photo doesn't show either of the actors in their costumes, but with the first look at Titans' Grayson/Robin (Brenton Thwaites) in costume coming out last week, it couldn't be too far away.

Kelly was first cast as Dove back in September, with her set to appear on Titans in a recurring role.

“Graceful master fighting machine. She straddles the world of being a thrill-seeking and do-gooding vigilante, along with being her crime fighting partner’s emotional anchor and caregiver. She loves him, but fears what he’s become…”

DC's 'Titans' Possibly Casting For Wonder Girl

dc-wonder-girl-donna-troy-1064402-640x32

Quote

The Titans television series is hotly anticipated, and it seems they might now be casting for longtime fan favorite.

The show is already loaded with some of the more popular Titans, but a new character breakdown obtained by That Hashtag Show reveals DC and WB are casting for a new guest star, and that could very well be Wonder Girl herself, Donna Troy.

The character breakdown reads "[RUTH GIBBS]Female, 20s, Caucasian or Latina or Middle Eastern, or ethnically ambiguous. Confident and kick . Educated. RECURRING GUEST STAR THIS SEASON WITH AN OPTION FOR SERIES REGULAR NEXT SEASON."

The show has already cast characters like Raven, Starfire, and Dove, so those are off the table in regards to this casting. That leaves a few options, but it seems Donna Troy is the most likely, especially when you consider the "recurring guest star with option for next season" part. Either as Wonder Girl or later Donna Troy, the character has been a crucial part of many Titans teams and brings that Wonder Woman vibe and tone to any team she's on.

On Friday, Warner Bros. released the first look at the new versions of Hawk and Dove from DC's live action Titans series and, as you can see in the image above, their new designs are stellar! Costume designer Laura Jean Shannon, whose credits include Iron Man and The Jungle Book, designed the updated outfits.

Alan Ritchson (Blue Mountain State) portrays Hank Hall, a.k.a. Hawk, in the series. Minka Kelly (Friday Night Lights) is playing his partner, Dawn Granger, a.k.a Dove.

Kelly had previously teased her work on the set by posting to her followers on social media, though she didn't share any costume details regarding the characters.

New TITANS Character Breakdown May Hint At An Appearance From The Demonic Trigon

156648.jpg

Quote

The main team members for DC's upcoming Titans series have already been announced, but we're still not sure which villain the teenage heroes will be squaring off against. Could it be Trigon, perhaps?

The powerful demon is one of the team's main foes in the comics, and this new character breakdown courtesy of TitansPodcast.com may confirm that he'll be a shadowy presence over the course of the first season before being featyured more prominently in the finale.

“[EVAN LOGUE]: Male, Late 30s-40s, Caucasian. Charismatic. A cult leader attempting to reunite his family. Central role for series finale. RECURRING GUEST STAR. Please submit star/cameo names. Casting early for wardrobe but the role works Ep. 111 (04/09-04/19) and Ep. 112 (04/19 – 05/01)”

Of course, it might not be Trigon. The description could well be referencing the villain's connection to his daughter, Raven, but there are other possibilities. Brother Blood, for example.

I lean towards Brother Blood.

A new casting call for DC’s Titans hints that a fairly obscure member of the Teen Titans could be the latest character to join the show. The live-action series, originally in development at TNT, will now premiere exclusively on DC Comics‘ upcoming digital service.

Titans has already rounded out its core cast of characters, with Brenton Thwaites playing Grayson/Robin, Anna Diop as Koriand’r/Starfire, Teagan Croft as Raven, and Ryan Potter as Garfield Logan/Beast Boy. Plus, this team of four will be joined by recurring stars Alan Ritchson as Hank Hall/Hawk and Minka Kelly as Dawn Granger/Dove. Now, while Trigon and Wonder Girl have already been rumored for Titans, a new casting call hints at another DC Comics character.

Hot News: Casting Notice May Reveal Huge Villain To Be Added To DC TITANS Cast

Quote

In an exclusive from our friends over at That Hashtag Show we have gotten wind of a new casting breakdown that could potentially reveal a new and very well known villain to be added to the cast. As of right now, we already know that the show will have a healthy dose of heroes with the Titans team being quite large itself, but it looks like we will be getting a healthy heaping of villains to look forward to as well.

We already know that DC Titans casting is being done for the characters of Trigon, Titans member Raven’s demonic father, or Brother Blood (who received a nice character arc in season two of CW’s Arrow.) This latest exclusive breakdown now shows that producer/writer Greg Berlanti is looking to bring one of the biggest and most notorious DC villains to the show. A villain with which Berlanti himself has some experience with already.

That’s right! Ra’s Al Ghul! Titans is looking to add a character that has received his fair share of attention as of late. Ra’s had an important arc in the Christopher Nolan created Batman Universe, played by the brilliant Liam Neeson. Ra’s also made appearances and had important stories in both Gotham, where he was played by Game of Thrones alum Alexander Siddig, and on Arrow where he was played by Matt Nable.

‘Titans’: Bruno Bichir Cast As The Chief In DC Live-Action Series

bruno-bichir-niles-caulder.jpg?w=446&h=2

Quote

Bruno Bichir (Absentia) has been cast as a recurring opposite Brenton Thwaites, Anna Diop and Teagan Croft in the new live-action series Titans, from Greg Berlanti, Akiva Goldsman, Geoff Johns, Sarah Schechter and Warner Bros TV. The series is slated to premiere in 2018 as part of the inaugural slate of a new DC-branded direct-to-consumer digital service.

Bichir will play Dr. Niles (The Chief) Caulder, a pioneer in medical science, searching the world over for those on the edge of death in need of a miracle. Brilliant, but controversial, Dr. Caulder will stop at nothing to help those he believes are in need, including his collection of strange heroes known as The Doom Patrol.

Bichir recently wrapped a series regular role on Netflix’s Narcos and also recurs on Sony Pictures Television Networks’ crime thriller Absentia. He just played the role of Angel in the Sicario sequel Soldado opposite Benicio del Toro, set for release later this year.

Quote

April Bowlby has reportedly been cast as Titans' Rita Farr/Elasti-Girl, according to Entertainment Weekly.

An actress on the rise, Rita Farr was exposed to a toxic gas that altered her cellular structure — which, in the comics, allows her to expand or shrink her body at will. Longing for the days of old, Rita finds a place for herself among The Doom Patrol.

Bowlby is best known for her roles in Drop Dead Diva and Two and a Half Men, as well as appearances on Psych and The Big Bang Theory.

Quote

Jake Michaels has been cast as Cliff Steele, the Doom Patrol member better known as Robotman, on Warner Bros. Television's Titans, ComicBook.com has learned.

Robotman will guest star in one episode of the series, which will launch later this year DC's planned streaming service, with potential to recur.

A former race car driver, Cliff Steele was in a horrific accident that left his body uninhabitable. Cliff’s brain was saved by the mysterious Dr. Niles Caulder and he lives on in a powerful robotic body.

Bruno Bichir will play the wheelchair-bound Caulder, the enigmatic brains behind the Doom Patrol, commonly referred to as "the Chief." April Bowlby will play Rita Farr/Elasti-Girl.

DC chief creative officer Geoff Johns recently revealed that the Doom Patrol was coming to the Titans series, which was ordered straight to series and will air on DC's upcoming streaming service from executive producers Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter (The Flash, Supergirl).

TITANS Adds STAR TREK: DISCOVERY Actor Dwain Murphy As Doom Patrol Member Negative Man

158242.jpg

Quote

It looks like DC plans to make casting announcements for The Doom Patrol members on a weekly basis, and the latest actor to join the Titans ensemble as part of the "freaks, outcasts, and social misfits" that make up the team is Dwain Murphy (Star Trek: Discovery, The Strain, Degrassi: The Next Generation).

The actor will play Larry Trainor/Negative Man, whose look is directly inspired by Universal's classic Invisible Man movie. Here's how this small screen take on the character will be portrayed:

A pilot in the Air Force, Larry Trainor crashed his plane and was exposed to a mysterious “negative” energy. Wrapped in bandages to protect those around him, Larry struggles with this new strange power."

In the comics, those powers allow Trainor to project a "soul-self", which can fly and project energy.

Jason Todd Rumored for 'Titans' TV Series

red-hood-jason-todd-1092493.jpeg

Quote

Over the last few weeks, Geoff Johns and the folks at DC have rolled out several casting announcements for the upcoming Titans series, adding nearly the entire Doom Patrol roster to the already stellar lineup of the Titans team. Now this week, it looks like another beloved DC character could be making his way to the show.

Rumor has it that Jason Todd, one of the men to take on the Robin mantle, is going to appear on the series.

According to TitansTV.net, unconfirmed sources have reported that the seventh episode of the 13-episode series will be titled, "Jason Todd," alluding to the addition of the character. While DC and Warner Bros. haven't said anything about the news, the episode title does line up with the other titles that have been confirmed or rumored to this point. Johns himself revealed that episode six was titled "Doom Patrol," just before confirming that the team was coming to the series.
