Shyamalan announces Glass has wrapped filming

M. Night Shyamalan returned in a big way earlier this year with his movie SPLIT, which earned some of the best reviews of his career, and made $278 million worldwide (off a $9 million budget). A huge final scene revealed this was not a normal horror flick and was indeed the long-awaited sequel to his film UNBREAKABLE. He announced he was getting to work on the final entry, GLASS, and he has now taken to Twitter the movie has officially wrapped production.

The sequel will see McAvoy’s Kevin, a man with multiple personalities, crossing paths with Bruce Willis’ David Dunn, who was the subject of Shyamalan’s UNBREAKABLE, the director’s take on a superhero movie. The two will go toe-to-toe as Dunn hunts Kevin down, all while Samuel L. Jackson’s Elijah Price, a.k.a. Mr. Glass, who was also in UNBREAKABLE, acts as an orchestrator and knows secrets about the two men. Taylor-Joy will reprise her role as Casey Cooke from SPLIT, and actress Sarah Paulson was added to the cast some months ago.

Virtually everyone going into SPLIT were expecting to see nothing more than a great thriller and a bonkers McAvoy performance, but by the end, they knew something much bigger was on the horizon when Willis showed up. A lot of people probably had no idea what that meant, but for the rest of us, it was a brain exploding moment. GLASS doesn’t come out for another year, and by god will it be a long one.

GLASS is set to hit theaters January 18, 2019.

A lot of this filming was actually in my hometown, Allentown, Pa. They used the location of an empty old State Hospital building. Looking forward to seeing how it turns out.

A fun few weeks reading about Jackson and Willis being spotted around town, though no mention of McAvoy.

M. Night Shyamalan Has Screened 12 Minutes Of 'Glass' Footage

The production wrapped filming last year, yet enough of the footage has reportedly been completed to offer the studio an early look at the film, with the filmmaker sharing, "Just came back from LA where I showed 12mins of #Glass to @UniversalPics & @DisneyStudios. Very very gracious reaction. #comicbookthriller."

While it's exciting to know that the early footage of the film is promising, we are still a year away from the film's release, as it won't hit theaters until next January.

In Unbreakable, David Dunn (Bruce Willis) survived a terrible train accident in which he emerged without a scratch. Elijah Price (Samuel L. Jackson) befriended Dunn, hoping to help him discover how he was able to survive the incident. Audiences eventually learned that, while Dunn couldn't be hurt, Price had incredibly fragile bones.

Finally saw "Split" last night.  Wow, Anya Taylor-Joy is stunning.  :luhv:  Those eyes look like they're right out of Japanese anime.

How exactly did she get those scratches on her stomach?  Are we to assume her uncle did that?

I was under the belief she did it to her self, cutting. From all the mental trauma/rape she was put through by her uncle. Just my take at it.
