Just got this book in.  5 in the census.

After winning the auction, I was curious about the name stamped on the cover.  There were about 12 books from this era with the same stamps (name, and the two dates), so I assume these books were held together since Irene stamped them back in 37.  Thanks to the address, I was able to look up some info about the late Irene, and this makes the book much more special for me, as I love being able to trace an old book back to the original owner, and learn a bit about her.

Irene was deaf from a young age, and was into arts and photography.  She collecting these books as a teenager, and stamped her name and these two dates on a number of them.  Surprisingly, on the interior of the back cover are two more name/address stamps.  She really wanted people to know these were her books!  I'm happy to add this to my collecting knowing where it came from, and honestly I wish I was more aggressive in bidding on the other books that belonged to her, to try and keep the collection that lasted so long together.

Fantastic.Thanks for sharing that,love it!
