GA With Less Than Ten Copies in the CGC Census 31 31

This is the full magazine with the rejected cover to the first issue. As you know the first issue has a star wars cover. This is probably a one of a kind.

Do I recall seeing a copy of "Wow! What a Magazine" in this thread?  I know it's somewhere in GA, but the search function isn't giving me any leads...

Hey @Yorick! I normally just search through Google as it indexes things better than the CGC software does lol. Here is how you can dig into specific sites:

this book gets absolutely NO Love and it’s a tough book. Only 6 copies on the census of this key 1st app of the Ace Baddy The Clown from 1940 where he actually appears on the cover unlike some Joker from DC 😂🤪 Couldn’t ask for a better presenting 2.0 with White pages imo!! Very happy to own this one

Here's an All New 11.  Seven on the census

Are these rare or just not commonly graded.  It's a pretty - Schomburg WWII cover with flame throwers, there's a lot going for it.

Adventures Into Darkness 13

My personal copy is the only copy I've ever laid eyes on and there's only 9 in the census. It ain't pretty, but it's complete and the cover is awesome

Nice.  That looks like a Toth cover too.  Did you have this raw before being graded?  Did Toth draw the cannibal story?

I did have it raw. Found it at a flea market a few years ago at the bottom of a pile of Dell funny books. 

 

Not sure about which story Toth did the art for. To be honest, I didn't really know much about golden age books at the time but I knew the cover was cool and had it graded. Initially I was unhappy with the obviously low grade (I also knew nothing about grading at that time haha). I later realized how rare it is. Now I'm just happy to have a copy at all

On the difficult side to find.

Heritage has auctioned less than a handful in its history.

You can see why old people like me don't let them out of their old collections all that frequently.

It's awesome.
