Smurf-tastic 3-day auction – Spirou 1071-72, Gabriele Dell'Otto signed print

Hi everyone, :hi:

This is a three-day special Smurf-themed auction.
It includes a lot of issues of the french-belgian magazine Spirou from the 1958 year run with chapters of the story "La Flûte à six trous" featuring the first appearance of the Smurfs. The full story ran from Spirou #1047 to #1086, for a total of 39 issues, and was first published in album format in 1960.

This lot includes:

• 6 issues of Spirou magazine. Unfortunately they have the common problem of rust on staples, with some migration to the paper around, but otherwise they are pretty nice midgrade copies. See the pictures for better evaluation.
Issues included are:
#1061 (Smurfs preliminary "cameo", hidden) VGFN
#1062 (as above) FN
#1063 (as above, but a Smurfs' arm can be seen) FN+
#1070 (Smurfs preliminary "cameo", hidden)
#1071 (1st proper appearance) FN

#1072 (1st Smurfs cover) FN

• 2 copies of a mini-poster for the 1976 film "La Flûte à six Schtroumpfs" (adapting the first story for the screen) originally issued with Spirou #1976. See here: https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/La_Flûte_à_six_schtroumpfs_(film)

A limited edition print (93 of 150 copies) of the Smurfs reinterpreted by Gabriele Dell’Otto, signed by the artist.

Bidding starts at $50 with increments of at least $5
Not sure how to value the print, so a "random" BIN price as per the rules: $350.
Auction will end in three days, on Saturday 20 at 7.30 AM (standard board time).

Rules:
– Please no people from the HoS;
– Payment via PayPal;
– Shipping Priority to USA will be $19 (Priority) or $26 (Registered);
– Payment is appreciated within 3 days unless arrangements are made before purchase.
– Once a single bid is placed, that bid is final (please do not edit your post, just add another bid to correct the amount if you wish so);

Return policy: Returns are not accepted; I try to describe items at best, but if I missed something drastic we can surely deal with it.

Have fun!

Did not know they had so many cameos, do you mind sharing pics of those pages? Might make me throw out a bid;)

Hi, I will try to take some pictures, but mostly they are quite concealed, i.e. hidden in a bush, partial silhouettes, talk, etc. The reader could have wondered that something unusual was going to happen, but maybe not so weird! :D

:news:

Just a note to explain that unfortunately the transaction did not take place, because when I was double checking the books, I realized the #1070 and #1071 did have cut out coupons from pages, and thus were incomplete.
MusterMark has been very patient and understanding, and I tried to get substitution copies, but since the new copy of #1071 (which is the most important) has an internal defect, he decided to pass on the lot.

So, later on, I will see if I should re-auction the books together or as separate lots. Just making this public in case previous bidders might be interested in the revised offer when I do so. Thanks again to MusterMark for his understanding.
