Does that mean the Batman #1 and Detective #27, 29, 31, 35 sold ahead of time since the collector was of age to buy them circa 1939, and they had horror type covers in that a Bat was on the cover?

Pictorial Confessions 3

Joe Kubert cover and art. Matt Baker art. Being a big fan of Kubert Flash Comics work, looking forward to reading this gem. Baker to boot.

Won a Pictorial Confessions 1 and 2 years ago at an estate auction in Detroit. Sold it then. :frustrated: Won't make that mistake again.  :x

Loving the amazing glossy sheen and rich inks on all these.

Just curious, do you have any information about the way the owner stored them for such a long time?

I did a complete walk thru of the house. Imagining where the collection lied undisturbed for decades. South Bend has pretty hard winters with humid summers. Fortunately, the comics where stored inside and not out in the garage with the magazines of the same era in brittle condition.

It looks like Carmine Infantino work on "My Foolish Heart" and Lee Elias on "Escape From Memories" . With a cover date of Sept. 1949, this would be one of their first jobs after the cancellation of Flash Comics.

Tremendous find for this Flash Comics freak. :headbang:
