- Which Targaryen has a greater claim to the throne going forward?

The one with the most family surrounding them.  The lone wolf struggles but the pack survives.  That conversation between Daenerys and Sansa was a possible hint.  If Sansa and Arya find out the truth who Jon really is, it'll be on. The King in the North will be sitting on the throne in the South.

That was a very interesting engagement between Sansa and Daenerys. And that question...

Sansa Finally Asked Daenerys the Most Necessary Game of Thrones Season Eight Question

Quote

In the second episode of Game of Thrones Season Eight, Daenerys sat Sansa down for a one-on-one chat—a chat that should have happened immediately when Dany arrived at Winterfell—to figure out how to get on the Lady of the North's good side. And Sansa, in return, played nice, letting Dany build connections about being strong female leaders from messed up families before asking the most important question of this entire damn season: "And what happens afterwards? We defeat the dead, we destroy Cersei. What happens then... What about the North?"

Dany did not like that question at all, snatching her hand away from atop Sansa's. Because to her, it isn't a question that should be asked at all. She made the answer clear from the moment she met Jon Snow at Dragonstone. She believes she is the rightful heir to the Iron Throne. She will win it, one way or another. And fighting the White Walkers, while necessary, is just a detour on her way to killing Cersei and taking complete power over Westeros—the North included.

Sansa's not going to take that lying down.

--------------------

The biggest showdown of the final season of Game of Thrones might not be the living versus the dead, or the coalition of Starks and Targaryens against Cersei. It might be Dany versus the family that's hosting her right now: Sansa, Arya, Bran, and Jon, and the Northern folk whose loyalty they command.

That exactly what my thoughts were.  Arya would have no problem adding another name to her list.

Next week after the battle has been raging for a bit Drogon will fly out into the field, hover for a second, and then the Winterfell dragon that's four times his size will swoop over him and fry everything in sight.  Moments after that I'll need a clothing change, but I won't notice it for another fifteen minutes or so due to being raptured by the throes of a nerdgasm.   :whatthe: :whatthe: :ohnoez: :whee:

What if Daenerys dies, and when it comes down a final leader to take on King's Landing it is Jon telling Sansa he feels she is the more natural leader.

Which is why the Game of Thrones account posted the song with lyrics about someone not wanting the power, and passing on such a role.

A younger more beautiful Queen?

Could be Daenarys, but will she keep it long?

Might be Sansa?

That's where my head is right now in assuming this is going to lead to a final fight between Sansa and Cersei. And because Sansa saw her in action at critical points in manipulating her son and others, Sansa probably knows her best to craft an appropriate strategy like she did with the Battle of the Bastards as the final hero.

So dam slow setting up, next week will be good though

Yes, but that first episode really didn't give fans much.  All the scenes were brief and felt rushed in order to show where everyone was at.  This week we got all the conversations that episode one should've had.

So next week the battle with the night King will last around 30 minutes, wonder who dies and who survives

The Hound has to survive surely, I want him going all out on his brother in a final battle.

Absolutely love Tormund. His scenes and lines make his character memorable. It must be pure joy for the actor playing him.

Exactly!

When he asked if the Big Woman was around...

:roflmao:

My thoughts exactly. (and nary a dragon to be found the entire episode)

Possible that they’ve been grooming Sansa from the very beginning to be Queen, her transformation to an Elizabethan monarch would fit.

Then again, to conclude the series imagine we see a character (pick your favorite) on the Iron Throne conducting royal business. When done, the room empties completely and there’s a close-up that shows their hand coming up to remove a faceless mask, starting to reveal their true identity, then immediately fade to black...
