Yes, but only in the sense of can we agree Monday morning, with the prescience of hindsight, in retrospect, retroactively, positing today the presuppositions of yesterday, an après-coup, a sort of inverted prolepsis and vice versa, an uncanny temporal displacement. the signifier falling into the signified, the predicate displacing the subject, the enunciated formulating the enunciation, &c.

The tautology is as such: Bran the Broken is Jamie Lannister.

A Lannister always pays their debts.

I'm just impressed that I only had to use the dictionary once;)

But others did care.

Dany's death should have been more impactful.   Again, I think it comes back to rushing. Yes, the series has had many deaths sometimes several major ones in one episode, but those were group deaths, or singular deaths that were allowed to breath from a story standpoint.  Now with her death it was the last in line in the span of 7 major characters deaths in 4 episodes,  many minor characters deaths, and thousands of innocents killed.  Plus, the major deaths were not just evil characters we wanted to see go down. Even for GOT that is a massive death toll.  With each major death you lose a little bit of emotional impact, especially when clumped this close together. Thus by her death many people were basically like what is one more at this point.

Plus, I think it was the most telegraphed death of the entire series.

Lots of consensus that this season was rushed. They had almost 2 years to film this season so you would think that this wouldn’t be the case. They probably should have had a full season of episodes and maybe added another season. As expensive as an episode costs to film, with the numbers of viewers, I’m pretty sure HBO could have made a season nine to help slow the pace of things.

Anyway I was disapointed with the finale. The first 1/3 was great but was unhappy with the direction it went afterwards. That small council scene was like an SNL skit. Did not like the character resolutions and had hoped for one last twist at the end. Still though, the journey is more important than the destination. 72 and 1/3 episodes were almost perfect.

Totally agree. We really needed that ‘mind-blowing’ moment to cap it off. Not a cliff-hanger per se but more of a “Hodor!”

Actually HBO pretty much gave them a blank check and said if you want 10 episodes an hour and half each go for it.

It was D&D that made the decision to end it.

Yeah, terrible decision.  They are going to destroy an already failing Star wars franchise.

Where is the Master of Grammar when you need her?

'Star Wars'

There. Back to the small council meeting.

Dany was unredeemable, she had gone from liberator to tyrant in a couple of episodes basically there was only one way for her story to end.

She hasnt been a "liberator" since the start. She murders those who stand in the way of her building armies. It was all a guise to build power, a useful catchphrase to sell the years of wholesale slaughter and acquisition.

One loose end - Bran said maybe he can find Drogon? Does that mean with ravens or he can warg the dragon now as well?

Probably warg, but who knows... we just don't spend enough time with Bran to really care or know what he's like.

Instead, we spent entire seasons with Jon and Dany... so it's such a bummer to see them amount to nothing in the end.

Yeah...enough with the silly meaningless social media petitions...We are all talking about it on all platforms and have done so for weeks all while they get record ratings going up each week.

Also once the Unsullied released Jon what reason did he have to go to the Night's Watch anyway?  If he had just done whatever after that what could they do?  Bran or Sansa could just pardon him and that's that.

As Grey Worm said, the Unsullied wanted justice - if Jon had been pardoned, they (and the Dothraki) likely would have rebelled resulting in more death and chaos. To avoid that and to keep the peace, Jon was exiled and it was mentioned that Grey Worm acquiesced.
