1940 Superman GUM Set

Hey all - I know this is a stretch for CG, but wondered who else out there was a fan of the 1940 Superman GUM card set.

They have great art on one side and scene stories on the back side.

i just finished my first Graded set (of 72) and there are only 7-10 other complete graded sets noted.

It Combines cool, old and rare for the ultimate set to collect in my view.   Of course that is also biased by being a huge Superman fan.

Any other fans out there of this set?

 I am.  I was a non-sports collector for a while when I was teenager.  Love the vintage stuff.

They are really cool cards. I have a few that are in really bad shape, I got a stack of 1930s mickey mouse cards once and they were in there.

Ive got a Superman of America certificate/membership letter. I found it at a local flea market already framed for $20 I couldn't pass it up. Mine says 1941 so that's pretty early.

I'll try to post some pics of my set - just an awesome Superman collectible and so hard to find (compared to golden age books, pre-war baseball cards ... really anything)

The set is hard to complete,, They are very popular, they have great Superman action pictures on them, higher grade individual cards always receive lots of bidding on eBay.....
