To be fair, $175 is a bargain for a Buscema page with Tarzan. $699 is probably a bit steep, though. I'd peg that at about $300-$400.

It went from 70% underpriced to 400% overpriced in 2 weeks.

You've got to congratulate the seller for recognizing a bargain while being entirely ignorant of the real market value of that piece.

It's a real rare combo.

Oh, and meds might be kicking in....he's revised it to $15k BIN.

So now it's just a crazy price, instead of absolutely crazy price.

And I like how he (in a super classy way) mentioned TWICE in the same sentence that the inker on the piece is deceased.

"The artist on this piece is Chris Bachalo and (the now deceased) inker for this page was Malcolm Jones III (RIP). "

I'm surprised he didn't alter the text of the Dead Parrot sketch for his auction description to reference Poor Malcolm..

No kidding.  Several things that were purchased at what I would consider FMV and then immediately listed for 3x that amount.  I know there's several threads about trying to figure out the San Mateo business model, but somebody's obviously decided it works.

Well, to his credit, Rob ("Archangels") is willing to negotiate, discuss, trade, etc. He's far more transparent and clear in communication and far far easier to deal with.

In all fairness, that's "For sale (maybe)."

He may choose not to sell it (when his flipping tactics don't pan out)(maybe).

Geez, if only I received royalties every time my descriptions were lifted, I’d funnel that money directly into comic art and never spend a dime out of pocket
