A LCS contacted me yesterday and offered me a sealed Blind Box at a decent price. Is it worth opening? Or, better to keep sealed longer term?

The longer they stay in the polybag, the worse for wear they will be. Plus there is room for them to move around inside.

I know the boxes seem feast or famine, but right now I think it's still worth the gamble if you pay between 300-350 for a box.

I paid considerably less than that in Canadian funds so I will come out okay regardless. I was not sure whether the polybag is an issue or not. Personally, I like to keep trades and other books sealed so it is complete.

Got a nice surprise via e-mail.

Pre-ordered this on 2/23 through Unknown Comics @ $125, and in the ensuing weeks as the price adjustments were announced I fully expected to get an e-mail from them either stating I owed another $125 or that they were not going to be allocated what they had sold and that my order was being canceled.  I fully expected, one way or another, that I was NOT getting that box at the pre-order price.  A feeling that was only reinforced as my order status has sat in the "unfilled" stage ever since.

Until today....Got an e-mail stating the box has shipped!

If this indeed does come through, I have nothing but kudos for Unknown Comic Books.  They, like a lot of online retailers, posted these for pre-sale immediately.  And they were fully within their rights to come back to me and ask for the difference once the $250 price correction was announced.  But they never did and instead honored the original purchase price.

Now the big question for me...do I break it open hoping for a Grail or do I sell.  Hard to beat a flip at nearly $400, unless, of course, a Negan is in there.

Congrats! I guess it depends on how much effort you want to put into flipping the ones you don't want into cash. Are you potentially okay with taking the time and effort to sell 25 books to make an additional $100-200 profit?

Very good points, Tnex ... I would rather not go through all of that, esp with eBay and paypal fees factored in.

Arriving today, so I need to list and sell ASAP.  The longer it sits in front of me the more tempted I'll be to bust it open!

So I've seen a few graded Blind Box books pop up on ebay. It appears CGC is putting each #1 blind box under one umbrella. No separate label identifying virgin/trade dress/color/b&w(shrug)

Agree that is strange... the description in the right-hand side could be left the same, but I would think it would be worth noting in the middle (where it says "25th Anniversary Edition") at least if it's the Virgin Cover or the B&W Virgin Cover
