New Suicide Squad Animated Movie Announced

The screening of Batman and Harley Quinn at San Diego Comic-Con was an eventful one. Not only did they unveil the latest animated DC Universe Original Movie to a crowd of devoted fans, they announced their next three projects. Those are GOTHAM BY GASLIGHT, THE DEATH OF SUPERMAN and SUICIDE SQUAD: HELL TO PAY. With SUICIDE SQUAD: HELL TO PAY, unlike the other two announced projects which are adaptations of existing DC Comics, this one will tell a completely original story.

While the Suicide Squad have been the subject of one other DC Universe Original movie (2014's Batman: Assault on Arkham), that one was a standalone film set in the continuity of the immensely popular Arkham video games. Suicide Squad: Hell to Pay will be the team's first venture into the animated shared continuity.

No voice cast has been announced. Suicide Squad: Hell to Pay will arrive in Spring 2018.

Film’s synopsis: Suicide Squad: Hell to Pay finds Amanda Waller’s top-secret Task Force X — Deadshot, Bronze Tiger, Killer Frost, Captain Boomerang, Harley Quinn and Copperhead — on a mission to retrieve a mystical object so powerful that they’re willing to risk their own lives to steal it. But the Suicide Squad isn’t the only group of villains seeking to possess the object. The race is on for the golden prize … and, to stay alive, second place isn’t an option.

According to a press release for Suicide Squad: Hell To Pay, the film will arrive digitally on March 27, just before its physical media release on April 10. Bonus content for the movie includes three featurettes exploring Captain Boomerang, Deadshot and various popular plot devices. Additionally, the movie will contain a sneak peek at the upcoming Death of Superman film and commentary from screenwriter/co-producer Alan Burnett and executive producer James Tucker.

Saw this today.

Definitely more hardcore than the first animated movie. And a wild twist associating it with the Flashpoint Paradox.

really then I need to check it out.

I found it well worth the time.

When you find out why the Suicide Squad has been deployed, and then what is the link with Flashpoint Paradox, it will be a wild surprise.

Sooo, looks like The Suicide Squad thread got locked because of some guy hanging hog in the movie? I’m sure he would be flattered knowing there was discussion of his junk here. And who was the prude calling it X-rated? Better stay away from beaches in France.

Unfortunately, it is what it is.

Meanwhile, this version of the Suicide Squad animated movies is fantastic. As is Batman: Assault On Arkham. Someone gave me a 4K version of Hell To Pay recently for free. It was outstanding!

For those that were not aware WarnerMedia made the decision to release its films without charging a premium charge only to drive more subscriptions.

The Suicide Squad Is Most-Watched DC Movie on HBO Max

Quote

According to recent reports by Samba TV (via Deadline), a viewing analytics organization, The Suicide Squad registered a viewership of 4.7 million US households during its first three weekends of release on HBO Max. This surpasses both of DC's previous releases, with Wonder Woman 1984 earning a viewership of 3.9 million households and Zack Snyder's Justice League earning a viewership of 3.2 million households. However, despite becoming the highest viewed DC film on the service, it fell behind both Mortal Kombat and Godzilla vs Kong, which hold viewerships of 5.5 and 5.1 million respectively.

And now we will see if this second spin-off materializes.
