Hello,

First off, let me say that I am so happy to have found these chat boards... I am learning so much and appreciate all of the help I have received so far.

With that being said, I thought it only right to come here and get a "second opinion" on a group of books I just returned from viewing.

I have been trying to connect with a seller who has roughly 125 GA books dated between 1943 through 1954. Finally, she had some free time and I saw them today ? I went with the assumption that the books would probably average 4.0. For the most part, I wasn't wrong...

Here is a list of what she has:

Fight    1952    82

Ghost    1953    8

Jungle    1944    59 – 60 – 61 – 62 – 63 – 64 - 65
    1945    66 – 68 – 69 – 70 – 71 – 72
    1946    73- 74 – 75 – 76 – 77 – 78 – 79 – 81 – 82 – 83 - 84
    1947    86 – 87 – 88 – 89 – 90 – 90 – 92 – 93 -95
    1948    97 – 102
    1951    143
    1952    146 – 147 – 149 - 150
    1953    154 – 157 – 158
    1954    162 – 163

Jumbo    1944    69
    1945    71 - 73 – 74 – 75 – 76 – 77 - 78 – 79 – 80 – 81- 82 - 83
    1946    84 - 85 – 86 – 87 - 88 – 89 – 90 – 91 – 92 – 93 - 94
    1947    95 – 96 - 98 x2 – 99 – 100 – 101- 102 – 104 – 105 – 106 -
    1948    107
    1952    155 - 160

Planet    1953    71

Ranger    1948    39
    1952    66

Sheena    1952    14

Tarzan    1951    25 – 26 - 27
    1952    28 – 29 – 30 – 31 – 32 – 33 – 34 – 36
    1953    42 – 43 – 44 - 51
    1954    52 – 53 – 54 – 55 – 56 – 58 – 62 – 63
    1955    64 – 65 – 67 – 69 – 73 – 74 – 75
    1956    76

Wings    1948    89
    1951    115
    1953    119

I was REALLY HOPING the the Ghost, Planet and Wings would be in nice condition. Unfortunately, they were average VG (give or take).

Out of the group, there were about 7-10% Canadian Editions, 50% VG, 15% VG+ - F, 15% F+ or better and about 15% VF OR BETTER!

There were some Jungle and Jumbo's that looked like they were printed yesterday! A LOT of white pagers as well ?

With all that being said, I need some HELP! This is my first time purchasing comics like these in a group and I want to get them... My plan would be to spread them around and flip most of them to recoup my funds put out for purchase. I'd like to keep the majority of the best copies for my personal collection.

So I ask; at what price per book would be a GREAT DEAL and what would be a MAX per book in order to accomplish what I'd like to do???

I know it is not the easiest to answer sight unseen, but with info provided, I believe the knowledge here can help me out. At least I am hoping to get some help...

I am planning to go back and purchase ASAP if tthe numbers work.

Thanks so much for any help provided :hi:

If it were me,I would honestly pass. Nothing there to get really excited about. As for selling them on, I wouldn't be expecting to make that much on those issues to be honest. In top condition maybe but in average grade those just haven't got the wow factor. You may make a modest profit depending on what you pay, but on the basis of your description of the lot, I would go in very low. As I said my first reaction would be PASS. Just my opinion based on the fact it doesn't float my boat.
