Had a great day. One of the best I’ve had in a year. Was great to find a few books, but the best part was seeing my buddies and a small sense of normality coming back into my world.

I suspect other than a possible smaller SDCC in Nov, this might be it locally.

Hey where was this show at, I assume LA. Never heard anything about it. Would have liked to have gone.

It was in Santa Clarita out in the SF Valley. It was in the events section on the boards. It happens about every 3 months. I’ll let you know next time.

To be honest, it was very small. Probably not worth the drive for you. But it was a comic show! There were 5 big SA/GA dealers is why I went. Didn’t score too much but just had a great time hanging out and geeking comics again.

We’re sticking to smaller highways for our current road trip. I had to post this BigBoy wannabe I saw in a little town in Kansas.

He somehow looks like Snoopy and Charlie Brown at the same time.

You really need the real deal!

Great photo! One of my friends collects advertising. He has an old, original Big Boy statue in his den. Complete with scratched in graphitti.

One of my old work compadres collected all things Big Boy; he was obsessed but had some real cool stuff. We used to work in a building in Burbank that was one of the old Big Boy food processing plants. If you sniffed hard enough the whiff of thousand island dressing could be detected!! As a kid the Big Boy comics had to be the biggest disappointment; yeah they were free but boy were they bad!

The Burbank Big Boy was always a fun visit with lots of interesting people whatever the hour and a great classic car show on Friday evenings.

Antique stores, garage sales, flea markets, estate sales, toy and antique shows, ebay and word of mouth.

Many, many years of scouring often very early on cold mornings with a flashlight.

Persistance my friends.

I have tapered way off these days. I’m very content with what I have.

The only exceptions would be old and rare comics and motorcycle toys.

At the end of the day it’s all about the thrill of the hunt and that “buzz” in the air when I walk into a flea market or show early. The thrill of “possibility”...
